Vet assistant who loves all animals

Pet care experience

🐾 Meet Cat: Your Canine Companion Specialist! 🐾 Hello fellow animal lovers and cherished pet parents! I'm Cat, and my journey with animals began at the tender age of four when my family welcomed three furry pals into our lives. Balancing the attention, playtime, walks, responsibilities and more for this trio taught me invaluable lessons that continue to shape my love and understanding of our canine friends. About Me: Currently, I am a proud dog parent to my incredible five year old Golden Retriever, Charlie. Prior to Charlie, I owned three Australian Shepherds. One of my Australian Shepherds was blind, and another one was deaf and epileptic. Caring for dogs with these special needs inspired me to delve into special-need animal learning and advocacy, and gave me an array of experiences I have been able to apply to clients with special-need pups. I have recently moved from the U.S to Winnipeg and both Charlie and I have been absolutely loving the snow here. While animals have my heart, I am also attending school to be a Nurse Practitioner (for humans!). Personal Practices: My commitment to canine happiness extends beyond my own pack. As a Rover caregiver, I apply my tried-and-true practices, always tailored to fit each dog's unique needs. Communication is key, ensuring that your expectations align with the care I provide. Fear-free practices are incorporated into every interaction, creating a positive experience for your furry friends. Animals are not just pets; they're family. To ensure proper wellness I make sure all animals in my care get a minimum of 45 minutes of heart-pumping activity daily, which is crucial for my longevity. Whether it's walks, flirt pole sessions, or an extended game of fetch, ensuring their well-being is my top priority. Specialized Care Experience: My journey includes caring for special needs dogs, as two of my own have unique challenges. I have experience with blind and deaf dogs, along with managing epilepsy. From administering medications and injections to handling dogs with various health issues, my extensive experience ensures your pet receives the utmost care and attention. Professional Background: Prior to my move, I was working as a vet assistant for three years while attending college. This line of work was inspired by the love and passion I experienced while volunteering in animal shelters from the age of 10. Working in vet medicine has allowed me to gain insights into a myriad of animal personalities, needs, and medical approaches. This professional background not only enhances my caregiving abilities but also ensures that I approach every task with the precision and dedication that your pets deserve. What Sets Me Apart: What distinguishes me as a caregiver is not just my professional competence but my ability to connect with each animal on a personal level. Understanding their likes, dislikes, and unique quirks allows me to tailor my care, creating an experience that goes beyond the basics. I approach every animal with respect and shower them with love as if they were my own. Let's Connect: If you're seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated caregiver for your furry family members, I'm here for you! Reach out, and let's discuss how I can provide the tailored care your dogs deserve.

Catherine was great! My dog is very high energy and can be a lot to handle at times. My dog came home tired from being able to play all day with Catherine’s pups. She sent daily updates and photos while I was gone and was very responsive.

Catherine did a great job with our shy 1 year old dog. She texted us throughout the time with updates and pictures, and I could tell our pup was doing well.

Literally the most AMAZING person to watch your dog. I had a family emergency come up last second and Catherine stepped right in to help and take my little Ruth. I’ve never felt more comfortable leaving her with someone and I’d do it again and again if needed. Catherine is very smart and is very knowledgeable about dogs. She always sends me pictures and updates and shows me constantly Ruth is getting unconditional love. 100000/10 recommendation for this amazing human!!!

At Client's Home: When providing services at a client's home, my approach is to replicate the pet's familiar routine and environment as closely as possible. I begin by scheduling a meet-and-greet to understand the pet's preferences, habits, and any specific needs. This allows me to tailor my care to ensure a seamless transition during my visits. Activities include regular walks, playtime, feeding according to their usual schedule, and administering any necessary medications. I prioritize maintaining a clean and tidy space, taking care of litter boxes, waste disposal, and any other necessary chores. Communication with the pet parent is key, and I provide regular updates on their furry friend's well-being through messages, photos, or videos. For overnight stays, I ensure a consistent bedtime routine and aim to create a stress-free environment for the pet, allowing them to feel secure and comfortable in their own home. My commitment is to treat each pet with the same level of care, love, and attention as if they were my own. Flexibility is a cornerstone of my services, allowing me to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of each pet and their owner. Open communication is encouraged, ensuring that pet parents feel confident and informed about the well-being of their beloved companions during my care.
