Looking for new furry friends!

Pet care experience

Please note I’m located in Hendersonville. Everyone calls me by my nickname Libby. I have my dog training certification. I live in a house with my husband Kasey and our four medium size dogs. Starting in 2017 we started rescuing our dogs Fennec and Silver Bullet. Regina and Graham joined us in 2018. Our tuxedo cat named Castiel came to us in 2020. As long as I can remember I have always loved dogs! As a kid I would read anything about dog care, behavior, and training. I don't stop at dogs and cats, My husband and I have exotic pets including a bird, snakes, and lizards. Everyone who knows me would agree I have a special way with animals. It's a lifelong passion. I started out working in a dog kennel right out of high school in 2007. In 2016 I got my dog training certification. Then I found Rover in 2018. I left Rover to work for an amazing local pet sitter in 2021 who taught me so much. I'm back with Rover to love and care for your pets but to also bring the professional care and safty I learned. I will care and love your animals the way you would want to be done if you were home with them.

Libby is wonderful to our two rescue mutts! Our dogs are wary of strangers, but Libby was very patient, careful and loving so they warmed up to her very quickly. She's a great pet sitter!

She was great! My cat likes to hide when strangers enter via the front door, so most sitters will never see her. Catherine took the time to coax her out and visit with her, which is above and beyond, as I don't expect anyone to do that in the few days they're feeding her. Was a pleasant surprise getting a picture of her at the end of the drop-in visits!

Libby was fantastic! We had a great meet and greet where my dogs got along wonderfully with hers. When I dropped my girls off they were all outside and ready to play. I got a ton of pictures and videos of my girls and I knew they were having a blast. My younger dog made a new best friend. They had the naps they love and plenty of snuggles, I know who to call if I ever need a dog sitter again!

Maverick's stay with Libby was more than we could've possibly asked for - he can be a tough big guy sometimes with lots of allergies, and Libby made sure to keep him from eating anything that could irritate him. She kept us more updated than anywhere we've ever left him, sending pictures multiple times a day with updates on how things were going, and she even tracked the walks they went on... in one day alone, they walked over 4 miles! He got so much exercise with all of the other dogs, and has been sound asleep since we got home... he's a very happy dog! We will definitely bring him back again, and would recommend her a million times over to anyone. Thank you, Libby!

In-home care. I will take care of your home and pet/s as if they were my own. Potty accidents happen and will be taken care of while you are away. Just point me to where you keep your cleaning supplies. On walks, I like to add a carabiner attaching your dog's collar with their tags to their harness or other forms of a collar. It creates some added security in case a collar or harness were to fail I would still be connected. In cases where there is no sidewalk, I always walk with your dog/s on the inside of the curb. Dogs that are kept in crates will have their collars removed because of the choking hazard it presents. Chews (Nylabones & rawhide types) that are left out will be picked up and placed out of reach when unsupervised due to the choking hazard they present. Boarding. I have a no playtime/exercise rule 1 hour before or after meals. We have playtime a few times a day in the yard with our jolly ball, dog flirt pole, tennis balls, and other fun toys. I have crates and exercise pens to separate dogs as needed. Sometimes a dog needs a break from the main action. Dog's will be contained in an exercise pen or crate when no one is home. Boarding dogs will be kenneled overnight. All dogs will be separated for meals. Daycare dogs 50lbs and below only. My cat is uneasy around larger dogs. *If you have a young dog or older dog that needs frequent potty breaks I can offer breaks every 2 hours during waking hours. I have a bedroom for any cat stays. They will have no interaction with the other pets in the house.

Information Catherine B. would like to know about your pet

I need proof of shot records. Animals must be up to date on flea and tick. What commands does your dog/s know? Does your pet have any sensitive places they don't like to be touched? Boarding. We do have stairs but we keep the dogs downstairs so no one will have to climb stairs. We do have a fairly steep backyard. If you have a senior dog please let me know if I need to keep them on flat ground.

A typical day

I like to include a daily walk for the dogs. We play ball and run in the back yard but nothing beats a good walk around the block! I try to keep crating to a minimum but I also like to give the dogs a break from each other. We all have grumpy days, even dogs. I like to give them their time alone to rest and reset.
