Caring and fun walks, daycare, boarding!

Pet care experience

Having grown up with dogs all my life, I’ve raised family dogs (from Jack Russell’s, springer spaniels, labradors, schnauzers and corgis) as well as gun dogs from puppies to maturity. I lived with my blind Jack Russell from 7wks to 14yrs, I now live with my 10yrs old, well mannered and sociable Siberian Husky. We love our walks (approx. 5-8 miles a day) and feel that any dog accompanying us on walks is well mannered, has a good recall and likes an adventure! Xavier accompanies me to nearly all places, with the exception of the weekly supermarket visit. I’m always looking for varied environments to walk e.g. forests, beaches, and also walk in our local park. I have a small and secure paved garden where Xavier likes to rest after walks, and sunbathe. We also have drives out to explore new walking areas and adventure places where he gets the opportunity to run free. I always make sure there is an element of ‘on lead’ time for Xavier to understand it’s not always about how much ground he can cover, it’s about behaviour in certain places e.g roads, car parks etc. My approach to training my dogs has always been one of mutual respect, and trust. I have never, and continue not to walk with treats, but there’s always lots of encouragement and cuddles for good behaviour! Xavier gets his treats at home and after a meal for good behaviour, the respect he’s given me during the day, and a close to his eating for the day. We have a wonderful mutually respectful, loving and caring relationship - he’s my buddy!

This was the second time we left Finn with Cat - but for a longer period (around 10 days). Well, I can only confirm what I wrote in my initial review - Cat has been brilliant, we felt totally confident Finn was very well looked after throughout the whole time. The moment we arrived to her street on the day of drop off, Finn got all excited and headed straight to her door - what better confirmation of a safe and fun place and company can you have! Cat kept us informed with messages, photos and videos throughout the whole time. Thank you very much - we will be in touch again soon.

So glad I found Cat through Rover! She’s absolutely incredible and has taken such good care of my little puppy Kiwi while I was away! Thank you so much Cat!

Cat was brilliant with my high energy miniature schnauzer, Pip! Two walks (one in Battersea Park followed by a very long adventure in Wimbledon Common!), lots of cuddles and two lovely other dogs to play with; Cat collected another high energy dog from a friend just so Pip had someone to play with! Cat clearly loves dogs and is very experienced - I highly recommend her (and will be using her again).
