Pet care experience

For the last five years I have helped care for my aunts senior dog who has multiple medical issues. I have carefully managed medication & assisted him in feeding when necessary. My upmost priority is safety, while allowing pets to still have fun despite their age. I also watched my aunts epileptic cat to make sure she is safe & doesn’t get hurt. I have a dog of my own that I have trained all on my own. At 6 months old he was already house trained, as well as knew multiple tricks. I have worked with him daily to train him while doing it in a fun playful way that he enjoys!

Safety, trust & environment

I always make sure to keep your pet in my vision and within the same room as I am in. I also always make sure to be respectful and approach gently & slowly as I know some of our furry friends can be shy or scared! On walks I limit interactions with other dogs to avoid possible encounters with reactive dogs. I always make sure to ask the other person if their dog is friendly before ever allowing contact. Respecting a dogs boundary is important, and I always make sure I know both dogs are comfortable before allowing contact. I also always keep in mind size difference. Dogs can be very kind and friendly but I always make sure the difference isn’t massive to avoid any injuries.

Information Cat L. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog is a little shy or nervous so I may approach them slowly so they can trust me & warm up to me. Also if you prefer your dog to stay away from other dogs on our walks. Allowed treats & if there is any resource guarding. I want to set up the dog for success & avoid making them feel threatened & want them to feel safe & happy so anything will help!

A typical day

I love to incorporate a lot of activities to stimulate the dogs such as puzzles like hiding a treat under a paper cup and having them pick it out, playing catch, playing tug of war, and allowing interaction with other dogs if you prefer. I have a park I personally go to where I trust the community and the dogs are well behaved that I can take them to where I know they will have a safe and fun time.
