When it comes to caring for dogs, I have about 10 years of experience. However, my family has owned dogs my whole life, so I like to think that I have a lifetime of experience! :) I have been dog sitting through Rover for over 3 years now which has allowed me to further my experience. Over the last year, I had taken a break due to a hectic life schedule, but now that I am beginning a new journey in nursing school, I'm excited to get back into pet sitting! I have cared for the cutest dogs of all shapes and sizes, from Boxers and German Shepherds to Mini Pinschers and Jack Russell. I’ve also been able to gain experience with special needs dogs, including a diabetic Pit that I provided insulin to and a Frenchie recently diagnosed with seizures. I've always had at least 2 dogs in the house, so I understand dog behavior, their needs, and what needs to be done to keep them healthy and happy. My family has always had large, energetic breeds (German Shepherd, Pitbull, Belgian Malinois, etc) so I'm prepared and experienced with just about anything! I recently rescued my very first kitten and I could not be more in love with cats now as well! In addition, I would consider myself to have plenty of knowledge about dog training from attending training sessions and training my own dogs. When I started my college career, I was aiming towards being a veterinarian, so animals are and always will be a big part of my life. Although I have a huge love for animals, it turned out that career path was not for me, and I have since switched to nursing. During my time as a pre-vet student, I was a veterinary shadow for 3 months in the summer of 2017, as well as continuously volunteering at a vet clinic during the school year and at the Humane Society. I’ve been dog sitting for family/friends since I was about 12. In addition, I would and still do care for my own dogs while my parents were out of town. Unfortunately, I am unable to have any of them live with me so caring for others' fur babies is a great way to help with missing them! I have an immense love for dogs and animals and I understand that they are your family and their proper care is of utmost importance to you. With my extensive animal care background, I promise I will have you're dogs happy and healthy when you come home! Please note that I try to keep my rates as competitive as possible while also accounting for the wealth of experience with and knowledge about dogs that I have. I know that times are difficult, including for myself, so I will try my hardest to work with you to meet your own personal needs. Since I have not done pet sitting since the start of the pandemic, I am aware many protocols for meeting have most likely changed. Please let me know your expectations for me as far as safety and social distancing before we meet, that way I can be respectful of your and your family's health and safety. In addition, my school requires weekly COVID-19 testing, so you can rest assured that the person entering your home is healthy and COVID-free! I hope to meet your beloved furry family members soon :)
