Passionate Former Vet Tech

Pet care experience

I was a certified vet tech for 6 years now (though 2 of the years were out of the clinic doing pet sitting and dog walking)! I grew up animals since I was born and have tons of experience with any kind of animals; though my passions run in dogs, cats, reptiles, birds and small exotic species! So I am very comfortable with and knowledgeable in the care of most species of pets kept as companions! Having been in the veterinary world I am also extremely comfortable with special needs pets that need to be given medications ranging from oral pills to injectables so a diabetic cat or megaesophagus dog does not scare me! I have years of training and knowledge as I also went to school for being a certified veterinary technician for 2 years giving me a total of 8 years and had to constantly do continuing education for my certification. I decided to not renew however because my passion no longer lies in a clinical setting and I get the most joy in working with my clients pets in their own homes in a more relaxed setting. Because of my background however, I am well hearsed in seeing any signs of concern in a pet that may require medical attention and can handle emergencies accordingly. So you can rest assured knowing your dog, cat, lizard, bird or bunny are in safe hands!

Cassidy did a great job looking after the house and both my cats. My cats are trauma cats and are extremely shy to people. Cassidy patiently worked with and waited on my babies to come out of hiding by using toys, treats, and t.l.c. She sent me daily text reports to keep me informed and even included photos when possible. I would definitely recommend Cassidy to house sit and cat sit and I would use her again in the future.

Cassidy was amazing! she was extremely professional, gave us so much confidence, she is so reliable, we had so much reassurance while we were out, we feel so incredibly blessed to have found her. Our Copper wanted to leave with her when we came home! Looking forward to getting away more, now that we have a trusting, loving and dependable sitter to care for our fur baby!

Cassidy is amazing pet sitter that takes times with your pets. The fact she has veterinary experience helps me know my little ones are safe and well taken care of. I would recommend her anytime!

Cassidy has a passion for animals. She is caring but firm when needed to keep her pets safe. As a certified veterinary technician she is well liked by many clients for the careful, thorough, and accurate care she provides. She has watched our dogs many times and they are as happy and healthy as when we left, our home is well kept and clean. Cassidy has had experience with a variety of pets and levels of care, some needing special care, all of which she demonstrates great competency.

Safety, trust & environment

Pets will always be supervised outside during potty breaks even in a fenced yard, and if there is no fenced yard pets will be leashed accordingly for their safety. I prefer to feed pets separately from other animals to prevent pets from bullying each other over the food or any aggressive behaviors. During walks treats are used to help with leash manners and I love working on training with pets as a way to work their minds be it a new trick or playing a mental game. Oral medications will always be offered using food first before dry pilling considered however I am also comfortable dry pilling if a pet requires it; always followed up with water to wash it down. A pets comfort is my big priority and I will go above and beyond to keep them calm and feeling safe; be it going over board with blankets, pillows and toys that make them happy. Separation anxiety music playing if needed and possible use of pheromones' such as Adaptil or Feliway in cats or dogs. Reptiles, small rodents and birds will be kept in cages/enclosures unless otherwise requested and will be under strict supervision when out to prevent pets from getting lost.

Information Cassidy C. would like to know about your pet

I find it extremely important to know pet behaviors ahead of time! Inter pet aggression is a big one for me to know about as well as kennel aggression and stranger aggression. I also need to know any medications to be given exactly as your vet prescribed (oral tablet twice daily, injectible given via muscle etc.) Chronic conditions are also important please; such as diagnosed diabetes, thyroid disorders, cushings/addisons, seizures etc.

A typical day

I cater my days to a pets needs. A high energy pet will receive different care from me than your average couch potato depending on what a pet wants to do. For high energy kiddos I love to stimulate their brains as much as their bodies! I have several mental games I can play inside or outside and will usually do longer walks or higher intensity walks. I also adore playing fetch with pets and can do this with them for hours! If your pup swims in your pool too I am happy to help them enjoy that too! For your couch potato babies I am all about just hanging out on the couch for belly rubs or head pats and chin scratches. If they want to play mental games for food then I will happily do that with them too! I do also know it is important for these kiddos to get some exercise so we can go for some lazy walks or try something low impact for their joints if they are seniors. For exotics; this also heavily depends on them and what they enjoy. Please feel free to ask for details and we can certainly discuss how to get your babies their best care!

I just recently moved back to Cheyenne from my 2 year hiatus in Florida as of the first week of October 2023 and am a photographer (boudoir and pets) so I am very flexible for your pets care! I do have 2 dogs of my own here at home though and need to be present for their care as well.
