Celebrating 5 years on Rover🥳

Pet care experience

It all started with a shih tzu. Helping my childhood dog, Momo, through his final years of life and all the challenges that came from having a blind dog in deteriorating health has sprouted into a now life-long passion that has become my full time profession for the last five years. Currently, I am the proud parent of an American bully mix, Honey, and a shiba inu, Winnifred- my two wonderfully chaotic girls who have been so foundational in my pet care approach. In my time on Rover, I've cared for fresh additions to the family with puppies and adult rescues, helped seniors navigate their changing end-of-life periods, and been the lap to sleep on for a few hundred dogs and cats while their parents are away. From teacup chihuahuas to massive American bullies, from boxers who love to laze and Aussies who love to run and chase, all dogs are welcome with me, regardless of size, breed, or tempermant.

Cassidy was great. She did exactly as we asked and checked in with us each day. I know Ollie loved her from all the pictures she sent. She gave us details of everything they did during her visit. I would recommend her and I will use her again!

Cassidy was wonderful with my 3 cats! All of them loved her and enjoyed lots of pets and attention when she took care of them. She sent wonderful photos and notes after each visit. I highly recommend Cassidy and will definitely reach out to her again to care for my pets.

Cassidy was quick to come to our rescue to let our pup out. She was very communicative and sent adorable pictures. We will definitely use her in the future.

Cassidy took great care of Mr. Bill the cat despite the fact that he hid from her the entire time AND we had a major snowstorm! She stayed and talked to Mr. Bill so he knew he wasn't alone. She was very communicate and flexible when we had to add an extra day due to the snowstorm. 100% would hire again!

Safety, trust & environment

During the hotter weather, I always carry water and we take shade breaks as needed, so your pup never feels rushed or gets overheated. I do limit outside time and physical exertion on very hot days to combat the potential of heat stroke or a pup passing out from exhaustion. Mental stimulation is just as, if not more, tiring than physical exercise for dogs, so I try to give as much sniff time as each pup wants! I also carry healthy treats with me to help encourage and reward dogs and even to deter other dogs from rushing into your dog's space. If you're booking an overnight stay in your home- please read this! My weekday schedule is flexible, which allows me to spend a large amount of time at your home. I typically start my work day around 10/10:30am, so your pet(s) will have a good amount of social time in the morning. I'm typically "in for the night" between 8pm and 10pm and your pet will get a long visit in the afternoon, usually around 4pm! I do not spend the entire booking in your home, as I have to work and maintain my own home, but your home will act as my "home base" for the duration of the booking, meaning I will spend each night there and a large portion of each day as well. My goal is to maintain your pets schedule as much as possible for their comfort while you are away! I always approach dogs and cats on their terms. Their comfort and safety is my absolute highest goal at all times. Nervous dogs, excited dogs, fearful dogs- all are welcome and I have methods for dealing with all kinds of events once we're on our own and they can't rely on their parent or rock for comfort. I have a different approach for cats because of the different ways each species interacts with humans- your kitty will have total control of how we interact, even if that means they hide the whole visit or want the snuggliest of snuggles. As long as they are happy and cared for- that's what matters most to me!

Information Cassidy B. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know if your dog has any food or toy protection tendencies, gets along well with others dogs, and any important information you, the pet-parent, thinks I should know (like allergies, medical needs, areas to avoid petting, etc.) I do carry a mix bag of treats, which consists of a variety of proteins including chicken, turkey, duck, pork, beef, lamb, and various fish on a rotating basis!

A typical day

If you have any parks or nature trails nearby, we will definitely take advantage of any open green space! Dogs who enjoy sniffing burn energy doing just that, so I typically let sniffers sniff as much they like while still keeping them moving. I am happy to use flexi-leashes if provided but dogs will not have free reign if we use one for their safety.
