We got our first family dog when I was 7 years old & since then I’ve cared for everything from chihuahuas to goats to lizards to hamsters. Just your typical animal lover :)
Reviews
My pup loves Cassie!
Cassandra is super communicative and triable!
Cassandra is super easy to communicate with and always takes such great care of our pets!
Cassie was wonderful and took great care of Poppy while we were out of town for an extra long weekend! She was very communicative and sent pictures and videos of Poppy. Even though the heat had Poppy a little out of sorts, they had a great time together and we came home to a happy dog. Highly recommend Cassie and can’t wait to book her again!

I am currently restructuring the boarding services that I provide to accommodate some recent changes to my living situation. I will resume boarding dogs sometime later this fall/winter but am still accepting requests to board cats, at a discount from my usual rates. I am also still providing full house sitting services, but please note that I charge the same amount to house sit whether it’s for a cat or a dog, due to the additional transportation cost. Regardless of whether I am house sitting or boarding, I am always happy to care for multiple pets from the same family, and when last I checked my rates for additional animals are lower than the norm. As a general rule, I try to avoid other dogs while walking for my clients because although I may be confident in your pet's behavior, I do not want to be responsible if someone else's dog is ill mannered. If your dog happens to love going to the dog park/has friends in the neighborhood/etc please let me know, because I am willing to make exceptions if that is your preference. When boarding, I have a motion detecting security camera (with audio/mic capabilities) in my apartment so that I can keep an eye on boarded pets during my regularly scheduled office hours, and I am happy to share that with you should you request it. Lastly and least importantly -- I'm not sure why Rover lists my neighborhood as Catholic University/Brookland; although I live next to that area, I'm actually in Petworth.

Information Cassandra M. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs and/or dietary restrictions. I am comfortable dispensing meds as needed, but I do like to go over that information beforehand so everything goes smoothly.
A typical day
Getting to explore different areas of the city while walking dogs is one of my favorite things to do. I'm also fond of sunbathing so if your dog likes hanging out in the yard, we will definitely get in some good quality time outdoors. Of course, I'm a well rounded gal so there's always time for cuddles on the couch while watching tv or playing video games if that's more your dog's speed. I think the most random activity I like to do is probably reading out loud; I find it's a good opportunity to brush up on my Spanish, and a calming wind-down activity before bed. They seem to love it just as much as kids do! Also -- I do not accept multiple bookings in the same time slot (other than multiple pets from the same household), so you’ll never have to worry about how your pet will interact with an unfamiliar animal. I also do not currently have any pets of my own, so I am able to give your pet my undivided attention.

Availability
I'm scheduled to be in the office from 8:30am-5pm Tuesdays, Wednesday, & Thursdays and WFH Mondays & Fridays. However, this can be flexible with enough notice, as I have a generous amount of PTO. I usually accept bookings pretty last minute, but if you have a specific request for me during my regularly scheduled hours, please allow at least a week's notice so that I can request time off.
