My own experience with pets started when I was about 7 years old and my family got the sweetest lab-mix puppy, Patches, from a dog that had a litter in our neighborhood. With Patches at home when I went off to college at the University of Tennessee, I started dog sitting/walking for my friends' pets when they'd travel. When I moved to Southern California in early 2017, I created a Rover profile and had a great time exploring my city with a variety of dogs. I continued to use Rover when I moved a year later to Minneapolis, MN and loved learning about the city on my adventures with different pups--it's a whole other ballgame suiting them up in jackets and booties for walks in freezing temps! I've now been in St. Pete about 4 months, and I'm hoping to find more friendly pups here to teach me about this beautiful town. I'm happy to work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages and medical backgrounds. I have experience integrating Zak George's training techniques and can apply these methods during walks and visits with your pup if you're using his system. I also have experience giving oral medication, but am willing to learn injected medication if your pet should need. Though I grew up a dog-person, I fell in love with a cat-person and we started fostering cats in Minneapolis through a rescue non-profit, Twin Cities Pet Rescue. We foster-failed our very first cat, Einstein, and about 5 fosters later (all adopted!), our second cat, Zula/Jellybean. I'm now a very happy at-home cat-lady as well and am comfortable watching your cats should you need a sitter!
