Hi dog owners! My name is Casey and I am a forever dog lover originally from Chesapeake, Virginia. Dogs have long been an important part of my life, and I have never known a household without a barking companion. My childhood dog, Beau, was a rescue German Shepherd/Lab mix that completely stole my heart and proved to be the brother that I never had as an only child. I am very familiar with the love that only a dog can give, and I completely understand the importance of knowing your pet is safe and cared for when you go on a trip. Although my college schedule at UVa did not allow for a dog, I got my fur fix from the local SPCA, volunteering to walk dogs for an hour a week during my second and third years of school. I continued with a similar opportunity during my brief stint in Buena Vista, CO during the summer of 2013. I have paid experience as a dog walker for approximately a year in Virginia Beach and am comfortable with all breeds and sizes. As part of this position I was also expected to administer medication and provide daily updates as to the dog's well-being. Taking photos of dogs is a hobby of mine, and I might just have more dog photos on my phone than people photos! The dog in my profile photo is my "dog brother", Rudy. He lives with my mom back in Virginia; I currently do not have any dogs at my home. I have been living in Missoula, Montana for about a month now and I have been thoroughly enjoying getting out on the trails! I am a very active individual and would absolutely take your dog for daily walks or runs should you ask. I am available most nights and some days for dog sitting, dog transportation needs and walks. You can expect to receive photo and text updates of your pet's evening(s) with me! Why I love dog sitting My love of dogs began with a book. At nine years old, my favorite book was a book of dog breeds that I received for Christmas. I spent hours with that book, diligently trying to memorize as many statistics about each breed that I could. The following year my mom and I brought home a rescue German Shepherd/Lab named Beau. He definitely proved to be the sibling I never had, and I have an infinite number of fond memories playing and relaxing with him. Volunteering at SPCAs provided me with dog happiness during my time at UVa, and I realized I wanted to progress my learning about training. During time spent back home, I spent about a year in Virginia Beach getting paid to walk dogs on the beach - there was nothing better! I am working to self-train on the basics of training and hope to pursue future work with dogs through my own business. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administering medication and have been expected to do it during my paid time as a dog walker and in dog sitting scenarios.
