Hello! My name is Carrie and I'm a 24 year old professional working in the Hospitality industry. I've been around dogs my entire life and have both personal and professional experience taking care of them. I grew up with a German Shepard who lived a happy 15 years. For a year I fostered two dogs. One dog was a Chihuahua who's owner would leave him alone in their house for days at a time while she was away on business. When I began fostering the Chihuahua, he only went to the bathroom on a "wee-wee pad" and had very limited socialization with humans. Over the 8 months I foster him, he was trained to go to the bathroom outside, interact with humans and other dogs, and even learned a few tricks! The second dog I fostered was an female stray brought to the US from a Caribbean Island. She was terrified of loud sounds and humans. Over the 3 months I fostered her, she began more comfortable with humans, learned how to walk on a lease, and her anxiety was not as bad as it was when I began fostering her. Finally, I have experience dog sitting for two families. The first family had two Golden Retrievers and a Great Dane. I would play outside with the dogs twice a week when their owners were not home and house-sat for them multiple weekends over the course of a year. The second family had one Golden Retriever that I would take out for walks and hikes 2-3 times a week, depending on the owner's schedule. On the weekends I occasionally volunteer for an animal rescue at their adoption events for dogs and cats. I love going on hikes, walking outside, and being active in general. I am available for dog walking and house sitting. My availability is Monday-Friday after 6pm and anytime on the weekends.
