I currently have about 8 families as regular clients. I met all of them through word of mouth, outside of Rover. I'm on here to meet more dogs that need extra attention, extra behavior consideration, but please know that the majority of my schedule is scheduled outside of Rover. :-) I was raised in Wisconsin and assisted my incredible mother in training both horses and dogs. Once my husband and I finished our graduate work and settled in Georgia, we rescued a border collie mix, Forest, and a truly mysterious mix (beagle, great pyrenees, lab, coonhound?), Violet. We got both dogs when they were between 6-8 months and have been highly invested in ensuring they have received balanced, complete training. Forest, especially, has had some struggles with leash reactivity and anxiety, but is now a happy, social dog capable of being calm in the house and an active working dog in our backyard (he loves agility!). Both highly energetic dogs get along with our little black cat, Maggie, as well. Helping Forest and Violet succeed and flourish continues to be one of the most rewarding things in my life. I am extremely dedicated to ensuring your dog's routine stays in place while you're at work or on vacation. I approach dog care with patience, kindness, and a dedication to honoring what's unique about you and your dog. I have a great deal of experience dealing with easy-going dogs and with dogs that require more confidence and guidance from whoever is taking care of them. I will ensure that your dog gets as much mental stimulation, exercise, and cuddles as is exactly right and beneficial for them. I can also assist, if needed, with ensuring your dog retains, maintains, and cultivates leash and social skills that will help them feel confident, safe, and capable in the world. I have moved from working full time at Emory University to working part time while I finish working on my second book. I work Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am-1:30 pm and thanks to my wonderful, equally dog-capable husband, can assist with your animal's care when I'm not at my part time job. I am available for overnights at your house during the week and on the weekends. I am available for drop-ins and walks when I'm not at work during the week and any time on the weekends. I will send updates, photos, and videos for any of these services. I am happy to care for cats that live with your dogs or cats that live in a dogless household! My goal is to cultivate a relationship with you and your dog that is sustaining, so that when you're gone, you and your dog are confident that their routine and sense of comfort / happiness will stay consistent and strong.
