Home full-time & lots of attention

Pet care experience

We love adding Rover pups to our family temporarily while their own family is away! I (Carrie) have been Rover sitting for many years, first in Seattle and now in Milwaukee with my spouse Dom. It can be hard to be away from your little buddy, so we make sure to ease that process by providing lots of updates to you and extra attention to your pup when they're in our care. As a fun bonus: I love taking photos of dogs I watch, and I sew pet apparel for fun. Your pup may come home with headshots to kickstart their acting careers or a new sweater. ;) Without a doubt they’ll come home loved and cared for. In my care, your pup will get lots of attention and playtime. I work from home most days in my pet-friendly condo complex on the East Side. I spend my days with my little dachshund/min pin pup Bruce Wayne and take him on about long and walk per day as well as frequent shorter walks. Bruce can be a little anxious around new pups but settles in quickly and loves to play with dogs his size and larger. I have experience working with rescue dogs as well as senior dogs, and I am an attentive and understanding caregiver for pups with special needs. They have my whole heart. ❤️ Pups are more than welcome on my furniture unless you request otherwise. I take frequent breaks during my work day and weekends (every 2-3 hours). I will also take the dogs out for potty breaks at regular intervals, send you photos from the stay, and administer any medications (except shots) or special diet foods. Dom and I have no kids or other pets besides our 10-year-old doxie mix. Why I love dog sitting I've always loved all animals. I rescued my pup, Bruce Wayne, almost 5 years ago. He's been the biggest bundle of joy ever, and I love having him around and adventuring with him. Because I was always naturally good with dogs, I've always been the go-to dog sitter and house sitter for all my friends and family. Meet my pets I have a small dachshund-mini pin mix named Bruce Wayne. He loves other dogs, especially those around his size, and is very friendly. About my yard I don't have a backyard, but my complex does have a pet area where we can take quick potty breaks. In addition, there are lots of big parks (Volunteer Park and Interlaken Park are my go-to's!) nearby. My experience administering medication I give my Bruce Wayne 2 pills per day for allergies. Happy to administer any medication your pup needs too, either oral or topical.

Carrie was wonderful! She sent us regular updates and the daily texts/emails/pictures made our day. We would not have been able to enjoy our vacation if we didn't believe that Gramsci was in great hands. We are new to the Seattle area, and Carrie was attentive and sensitive to our dog's needs. We will definitely ask her to help us out again in the future as well as recommend her to others.

We've had two great experiences with Carrie. A couple months ago, we booked Zooey's stay with Carrie only to end up with a sick pup the day before. Our friends took Zooey to the vet and we had to change up the dates/timing of her stay with Carrie. Carrie could have easily declined as she has another dog (Bruce!) to worry about, let alone our sick dog. Not only did she still watch Zooey, but she coordinated with our friends for drop off while we were out of the country, took excellent care of her, and was in regular communication about Zooey's health, mood, eating habits, etc. Fast forward to last week and Carrie agreed to watch Zooey again for a weekend. With Zooey at 100% it sounds like she had fun with Bruce and we again got regular updates and pictures from Carrie. Zooey appreciated the birthday treats as well ;). Hopefully this time was a little less stressful! Thanks!

Our Frenchie has some special food and medication requirements and Carrie was so wonderful and understanding about his needs. She watched him for a week during our wedding and we received regular updates, and photos, never worrying about how he was doing. I think he was really sad to leave them.

Safety, trust & environment

We have an unfenced tiny backyard where we sit with the dogs when it is warm (always supervised). We walk the dogs around the block and to the lake (2 blocks away) for exercise. The condo has two stories so dogs should be okay walking up stairs.

Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Carrie J. would like to know about your pet

Because I live in a small condo complex with neighbors nearby, I cannot sit dogs who are known to bark often or when left alone. Please let me know about your dog’s barking habits before the meet and greet! Better that you find a happy match for your pup where they can be themselves!

A typical day

Where we'll take our walks We take pups around the East Side. If the dogs need more exercise I can also drive to dog parks or hiking areas where the dogs can sniff around more, but I always keep them on leash. I’ll ask you if you prefer me to do this or not and adjust my plans accordingly. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog is welcome either in the bed with Bruce Wayne (as long as he/she is not territorial). Or, if he/she is crate trained, I'll happily make a little nest for your pup to sleep in. Time I'll spend with your dog I plan to be with your dog most of the day, as I work from home. He or she will always be in my line of sight while there (hopefully bonding with my dog too!). I do have to step out from time to time and run errands, so your dog should be crate trained or well-behaved so I can trust them when I’m out. My dog stays out of his crate during the day, and I'd love if yours could too!
