Safety, trust & environment

I am certified with First Aid and CPR for pets. I’ve also been in the holistic health field for both people and pets for over 25 years. I am confident and experienced in case of an emergency or concerning situation arises. I also have experience with raw food diets and pets with allergies. I have a small fenced yard with a large deck at my townhome where your dog can spend time as I often work outside weather permitting. The complex is in a wooded area with nature paths and parks for walking. I also live right next to Hollows Conservation, which is a large forested area with walking trails and a lake. I have always walked dogs from my home to the hollows for our hour-long walks. It's a wonder place for exercise! Dogs who have high energy levels are walked more frequently and longer. In the summer, swimming in a nearby lake with a long leash is possible. I find that exercise and a variety of environments often helps relax and entertains dogs, helping them to enjoy their time, and eat and sleep better. **I live in a townhouse

Information Carolyn G. would like to know about your pet

Let me know about any needs or preferences your dog has. Does your dog have separation anxiety? Can your dog be left alone for a few hours? Are there any behavior issues with other dogs, or people? It’s important I know about past abuse so I’m able to provide additional support and protection for your dog. **If you have more than 1 dog who needs boarding or daycare, I will accept a puppy under 1 year old that is also part of the family. However, the puppy must be crate and house trained and has had some obedience training, and no destructive tendencies. **I only accept dogs who are friendly with other dogs, because I accept up to 3 dogs. ***I do not accept Pitbulls. Cats: My only service for cats are Drop-Ins.

A typical day

I’ll make sure your dog enjoys their time with at least 2 or more walks in the neighborhood, or around the lake at the Hollows Conservation, and additional play and attention inside.

Giving Pets Love & Attention

Pet care experience

I've had dogs most of my life because I love them! I've adopted, raised, trained, and nursed 2 dogs (separately) that were 3 months old and cared for them until their passing. I also adopted an adult dog who was my close companion for 7 years before her passing. I also care for and have experience with small to large dogs. I grew up with dogs, which have always been in my family. For several years I was a volunteer at Save-A-Pet Animal Shelter and handled a variety of dogs, especially dogs with difficulties. I am First Aid and CPR certified and prepared for any unexpected emergency that may happen. I’m also experienced with dogs who have special needs. I’ve been in the holistic health care world for both pets and people for the past 24 years and can offer suggestions that can support your pets needs. I have experience with raw food diets, and can prepare these types of meals with the food and nutrition you provide. My approach is loving, respectful, and gentle. I strive to ensure each dog feels safe and secure. I allow each dog to decide when and how they are ready for interaction. I'm a bit of a dog whisperer.

Carolyn was absolutely amazing with our dogs! She took great care of them and provided us with updates each day. She was also very flexible with our schedule, as our dogs were picked up and dropped off during our stay in order to attend our wedding. We absolutely plan to rebook Carolyn when we are in the area next!

Carolyn did a great job taking care of our elderly beagle and anxious golden in her home! We felt at ease leaving them with her for a week. We highly recommend her!
