Vet tech, special needs experience!

Pet care experience

Dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotics -- I love them all! I'm a second-generation veterinary professional who you might say was born to care for animals. Pets have been my passion ever since I was a small child growing up in a household that had dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, tortoises, and even a one-winged crow. I've spent the last decade of my life working and volunteering with animals of all kinds in veterinary private practice, specialty vet hospitals, shelters, even a couple of wildlife centers and zoos. Now I'm in my second year of a veterinary technology program to take my love for animals to the next level. When caring for your pet, it is always my goal to make sure their experience with me is as stress-free and positive as possible. I have education in positive reinforcement training and interpretation of animal body language; this helps me ensure that your pet and I understand each other the best we can. I seek to get to know each animal on an individual basis; no one is "just a dog/cat/[insert species]" to me. My goal is not just to take care of your pet's basic needs, but to be an active part of keeping them happy and healthy. In addition, both of my current pets have unique medical needs, and I would be especially happy to care for your elderly, sick, or special needs pet. Whether it's giving oral or injectable medications, monitoring a pet recovering from surgery, or just helping an old puppy-at-heart get up and down off the couch, I can handle the task. Pets without special needs are also welcome! And for you extra-vigilant pet parents, it might reassure you to know that my first of two required internships was spent working primarily in the busy emergency and ICU department of a large, highly-advanced veterinary hospital. I am proficient at pet CPR per the standards of the American Veterinary Medical Association, as observed and verified by a licensed veterinarian. Please contact me if you would like to schedule a meet-and-greet between me, you, and your pets. I look forward to loving your furry kids as if they were my own!

Caroline does such a great job with my senior dog, Canela. She is very patient and kind and I can tell she really cares about animals. She has put my mind at ease by looking after my old girl, and I know she is going to be well looked after while I am away.

Caroline did a great job with 2 girls. Caroline knew they may bark the entire time she was here and she still came and took great care of them! I received pictures and an update, which put my mind at ease. I have used Caroline in the past and twice in the past week and will not hesitate to use her again!

This was the best possible first time experience I could have had with Rover. Caroline was able to come and watch our dogs on short notice. She was attentive, professional and despite having discovered the website hours before, I knew I could trust my dogs to her within minutes of meeting her. She sent us pictures of her visit with them, and was flexible enough to work with us when our plans changed and we came back earlier than planned. Nothing but good things to say about this experience.

Carolyn was a pleasure to work with. She was attentive to the details and gave great updates to further put us at ease while we were travelling. She did an excellent job caring for our cats and I would hire her again without hesitation. :)

Information Caroline S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has any special medical or dietary needs, as well as regular and emergency vet phone numbers. Also please let me know what level of training your dog has had and if they know basic commands such as "sit," "come" and "no" (or if you use special words for these behaviors). I would also like to know if your dog is fearful around strangers or has shown aggression towards other dogs, so that I may keep myself and everyone safe. Thank you!
