We had Caroline provide a daily check in service for our senior dog and his cat friend. She came daily to give him a few minutes outside, cleaned up his mess, freshened his food and water. As long as your pets are not on a strict schedule or need a full 30 minutes of pampering she is a good fit.

As a first time user of Rover, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by the sitter. I selected the sitter based on the availability dates since I needed a care check for my dog on the day of Thanksgiving and the day after. The sitter was available on Thanksgiving and was within reasonable distance of my location therefore she was selected based upon those criteria. The sitter asked if there were any special instructions and I requested that: 1.) My dog was to be check on mid-day 2.) Fed a can of wet dog food in addition to dry 3.) played with for at least 1/2 hour as included with the service 4.) A picture of my dog be sent to my phone On Thanksgiving day, I waited for my picture of my dog, at mid-day, to ensure that he was fed and taken care of. Unfortunately, I never received the picture or any sort of text messages confirming the visit. I sent the sitter a text letting her know where the food was located. She replied that she was planning on visiting within an hour and that she was busy with Thanksgiving activities. I understand that families are busy but please do not make yourself available if you are not going to be. If this was the case, I would have selected another sitter. My dog was not fed until 7 pm that evening. I arrived home, the day after Thanksgiving, late in the afternoon and he was still not fed. This is very upsetting to pay for a service which was not completely fulfilled. In the future, do not make yourself available if you are not going to be able to keep your commitments.
