I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (I even rescued and brought a cat back to the US!) and current graduate student at CSUMB/MLML. I have loved animals my entire life and want more than anything to be a cat and dog owner, but my apartment prohibits animals. Thus, pet-sitting has always been my favorite job because I get paid to play with pets!! I can't wait to have a pet to hang out with at night and go on walks/runs with me. I have worked with dogs of all shapes, cats (my favorite), birds, bunnies, gerbils, fish, chickens and frogs and am learning how to take care of snakes and tarantulas. I have worked with very old dogs and cats, have given oral medication to dogs and cats, and given injections and IVs to cats. Being a grad students affords me with a flexible schedule and allows me to be available most days of the week and every weekend. However, I prefer house-sitting because it allows me to better get to know the animal, to be sure they don't get lonely, and be present in case of any emergencies. I am also willing to water plants and get the mail.
