Pet care experience
I love animals and have been fostering with Independent Animal rescue for over two years. I so far have fostered and found loving homes for 16 pets (woo!) I am open to helping out with cats or other animals (including reptiles). I have had cats and dogs (aka hyper labradors) for my entire life and my parents always made me responsible for their walks and meals. I love animals and would be happy to take care of your pet, preferably if potty trained though! My work schedule is rather flexible, and I am happy to work with owner's and pet's schedule to make them as comfortable and happy as possible. I have a dog (male lab) and two cats right now. The cats have their own spaces and our pup is very friendly with other dogs and animals. My husband works from home as well so he is here to help me out with any pets.

Caroline was great! She kept us informed while we were away, kept our Christmas tree alive, and was delightful to work with. We have already booked her again to stay with our 3 year old golden doodle while we are away. It really put our mind at ease to have a great caretaker for our "Child".
Caroline was outstanding, from communication throughout the planning and stay, and in the great care provided. We just moved and have an anxious breed of dog, so we were really worried about sending her somewhere new, but Caroline was very familiar with anxious dogs and did all she could to make her comfortable. Dixie was happy and unfazed at pick up. We would definitely use her again and recommend to others.
Caroline took good care of our pup during a six-night stay. Would recommend.

I am in a house and we have a fully fenced back yard with no dangerous plants. My area is dog friendly and has a lot of room to play. I have a nice crate and play pen at home for pups (if needed) and a cat-friendly foster room for kitties. I will keep my cats separate from your pet. Please make sure your animal is up to date on flea and tick meds.

I am used to labs., but love all dogs. I have experience with watching dogs with anxiety or who need medication or special care (elderly, etc.). If your dog has trust issues or a history of violence I'd prefer not to take care of them because I am not as strong as some of the bigger breeds! I am also used to providing meds for cats and insulin shots if needed.
A typical day
My neighborhood is dog-walking friendly. I will walk the dogs around, depending on their age and activity level. We are happy to play fetch in the yard and run around. I'll give them plenty of pets and ear scratches as well!

Availability
I work full-time in research, but have the option to be remote luckily. If I have to be in the office one day I will let you know. I do not like leaving pets for more than 2 hours at a time.
