15+ year experienced dog sitter!!
Pet care experience
My family always had a dog growing up, and I dog-sat throughout middle and high school. After graduating from college and moving on my own, I started dog-sitting around Boston to supplement my job. I absolutely love it, so even now that I have my own dog at home, I've continued dog-sitting whenever I can! I am pretty active and would be happy to take your dog on runs and hikes based on your preferences. Alternatively, I'm happy to relax and cuddle with your dog if that's more their style! I have cared for puppies and older dogs, and everything in between. I have experience caring for dogs who require medication in their food, and can accommodate any special requests with your dog's diet, etc.. I’ve gone through the enhanced background check on Rover and can provide additional references upon request. I am an early riser, so I will be sure to take your pup out first thing. I live close to Boston Common and the esplanade and can take your dog on adventures there, or if there is somewhere in the city your dog loves to visit, just let me know! I work full-time during the day Monday-Friday, but am currently working from home. I am the biggest dog lover and would be so happy to help you and your best friend. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you think I would be a fit!
Reviews
Caroline communicates clearly and promptly. The scheduling was easy and she sent me pictures and updates throughout the day. Drop off and pick up were timely. My puppy has stayed with her twice and has seemed happy when I’ve picked her up. She has her own dog Willow at home as well- a plus for dogs wanting to play with other dogs.
Caroline cared for my pup while our family traveled for quite a bit. He was super happy with her and her sweet doggie. He was obviously well cared for and she communicated with us regularly with updates on his day. We were able to enjoy our holiday knowing our baby was in such good hands. I would highly recommend Caroline!
This was my first time leaving our dog for a long trip, but she was in great hands with Caroline! Caroline sent plenty of pictures throughout my dog’s stay and was very communicative. My dog also has a sensitive stomach and had a bit of tummy upset right before I had to leave, which made me nervous. But Caroline was great about taking care of her and keeping me updated as she improved. Thanks again!
Caroline was wonderful! She is an excellent communicator, very responsive, understands my pup's needs, very experienced and obviously cares a lot about doggies. Her own dog is super sweet and my puppy had a fantastic time under Caroline's care. He was very well taken care of.

Right now, I offer mostly dog-sitting in my own home. I live in an apartment, so focus on walks/dog park visits as the main forms of exercise and relaxing at home in order to be respectful of my neighbors. That said, we do have dog toys to share since I have my own dog at home!

Information Caroline M. would like to know about your pet
**If it will be the first time I watch your dog and the stay is 5 nights or longer, I ask that we book a one night overnight stay in advance of the longer visit! This has worked well to ensure your dog is comfortable when they return, and helps things run more smoothly. ** -any special instructions regarding your pet's diet (also, my default is to avoid human food just in case!) -your dog's comfort level with other dogs so I can keep that in mind on walks. I have a dog at home so am only able to care for dogs that get along well with other dogs. - if you prefer I do not let your dog up on the bed/other furniture
A typical day
My go to spots for walks are the esplanade or around the common/public garden, or just around the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Additionally, we can relax and do shorter walks if that's more your dog's style.

Availability
I have my own (very friendly) dog at home so keep to a pretty regular walking/bathroom break schedule when dog-sitting. I typically take dogs out early morning, afternoon around lunchtime, early evening and then once more before bed. We can do quicker walks around the neighborhood and have a great longer loop around the esplanade that my dog loves, as have the other dogs I’ve cared for!
