I'll be your dog's reliable friend!

Pet care experience

I have recent experience with taking care of high-energy bird-dog puppies (English Setters and Brittany Spaniels), as well as huskies and smaller dogs, such as Maltipoos. I have also served as a volunteer at the SPCA, where I walked dogs and assisted with adoptions for both small and large dogs. I recently moved to Austin and would like to use Rover as a way to gain more experience taking care of a variety of dogs, before I commit to owning one myself! I am a trustworthy and flexible caretaker of pets, and will do my best to ensure your dog's safety while also having fun and releasing your dog's energy. I have safe toys for your pups to use at the park and will happily provide treats if requested. I live 5 minutes (walking distance) from Town Lake, and will happily take your dogs down to the trail on a walk or jog. I also have experience socializing puppies and can take your dog to auditorium shores if you'd like them to make some friends!

Caroline has gone above and beyond in the most difficult task of owning a dog: raising a puppy at 8 weeks of age. In the fall of 2017, when I was busy with both work and school, I bought a 2-month-old English setter puppy. I am not exaggerating when I say that this dog could not have been raised without the help of Caroline. One of Caroline's best attributes as a dog handler is her availability. She looked after Faye all day on Tuesday's and Thursday's on a regular basis. Other times, I called her with only an hour's notice and she still came to the rescue. Every dog owner knows that having a flexible, reliable person to look after your dog is an irreplaceable asset. Caroline also understands the importance of listening to the dog owner's directions, and complying with guidance. I gave her a run-through of the house rules on her initial visit (Faye is not allowed on furniture, she may not eat table food, etc), and I never had any issues. She is also very receptive to guidance on how I correct Faye. For example, she knew exactly how to deal with Faye pulling on the leash. The most important attribute Caroline possesses is a deep compassion for Faye. She always appeared ecstatic to have the opportunity to watch Faye, almost as if I were the one doing her a favor. Needless to say, Faye paid me no mind whenever Caroline were present, as she had formed an unbreakable bond with her dog sitter. It is important to note that Caroline looked after Faye on a regular basis from the age of 8 weeks to about 1 year. During this time frame, Caroline essentially took care of 3 different dogs (Faye as an infant puppy, Faye as a toddler puppy, and Faye in her challenging-of-authority phase). Caroline's ability to acknowledge this and subsequently adapt her training and handling style proves that she is truly a one-of-a-kind dog sitter.
