As someone who has grown up with 3 dogs (golden retriever, shih tzu, husky) and 2 cats (tabby), I have become very comfortable with animals—though my family treats them like humans more than anything! Because I’ve had pets since the age of 8, taking care of them is second nature. Besides the obvious feeding, walking, grooming, and playing, I understand the importance of the minor details when it comes to engaging with animals. Knowing the way they like to be scratched, making sure each have their own designated food/treats, and gauging whether they are territorial over food are just a few details that are crucial when interacting and taking care of any animal. Dog Qualifications: I have experience with high energy, reactive dogs. Because of this, I’m very active and attentive when walking such dogs, making sure to be aware of our surroundings. I also have experience with caring for older dogs. My first dog lived til he was 16. Cat Qualifications: I currently volunteer at Petsmart Areo Drive with House Rescue every week. Although playing with them is my favorite part, majority of my time is spent cleaning their spaces and litter boxes, feeding them along with their medications, and breaking up any cat fights-though not often!
