Come & Meet @TheBarkingNanny Pack
Pet care experience
Hey Y’all! Welcome. I am a pure-bred New Yorker with a heart, the size of Texas. As a flight attendant by trade, not only will I care for your pups like I care for people in the sky, but it is my priority to ensure your pets’ experience with me will keep them wanting to come back for more. So, pack their bags, favorite treats and a little something familiar from home, so we can get this vacation started! Here’s a little about my personal experience with pup care: Although I am not a certified trainer, all the training with my German Shepherd, Captain, is done by my boyfriend, Zak and me. He has earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate as a six-month-old puppy. We are very experienced with handling puppies to senior dogs, low to high energy dogs, and dogs of all sizes. We are a family who enjoys being outdoors. Hiking is one of our favorite ways to explore the city. We enjoy bringing our well-behaved daycare and boarding dogs on field trips with us too. We are a transient family, having moved from NYC to Dallas and now all over the DMV, we know how stressful being away from your pet can be. We hope you can trust us with your loved ones. We can’t wait to meet you! Xoxo, Carol, Zak and Captain
Reviews
So fantastic. Thank you so much for eliminating all my worries about leaving pluto. He’s happily exhausted.
Copper really enjoyed his visit with Carol and Captain. He went on lots of walks and got lots of treats. Carol updated with lots of pictures and videos. Highly recommend Carol.
Carol is awesome. My dog loves her! She showed up on time and kept me updated on how my dog was doing. I will definitely rebook her for future walks/drop in.
So great. Thank you so much for the time spent! 100% would book again

Information Carol W. would like to know about your pet
• Let me know if there are any allergies or special preferences your pup may need beforehand, so I may tailor it to their experience before their arrival. • Is there a specific schedule your pup would like to be fed for meal time, the way their food is prepared, bottled water vs tap water (No judgment here) etc, I will make it work! • Does your pup pull on the leash when walking? • What are certain commands they will respond to? • Reactive to other dogs? • Any resource guarding over food or toys? • Please let me know if there are any types of quirks they may have that will make them scared and uncomfortable (thunder, loud noises, moving vehicles etc). • Are they jumpers, like to dig, good with recall or not, chasing squirrels/rabbits? Being away from home shouldn’t be a hassle and I will make it easy for you.
A typical day
During boarding, I will make sure your pup gets ample exercise. We adjust according to what they need. I will do plenty of potty breaks (4-5x a day), walks, and hikes. Captain and I frequently visit Petsmart, Petco, Home Depot, Lowes etc to reinforce training. ⭐️ Here’s what a day and a life of @thebarkingnanny household looks like ⭐️ 8-9am: The mornings will consist of a brief 30 minute walk or sniff and rumble in the backyard to allow the everyone time for their potty break. After that we will have breakfast together! We will allow the pups to rest after breakfast so no one gets an upset tummy. Noon: During the middle of the day, I love to use dog puzzles to help stimulate them while keeping it fun (a.k.a. TREATS)! Captain constantly needs attention and a “job” as a shepherd so we do plenty of training that I’d be happy to incorporate. These include “sit” “down” “stay” “come” and leave it” “wait” commands. Sounds easy? Every pup needs basic 101 reinforcement. Additionally, we will have plenty of healthy treats (beef jerky, pig ears, yogurt, boiled chicken breast, bully sticks etc.) for everyone and another mid day potty break after all the mind stimulating games! Hopefully after their break, the pups will nap or either free play. **2:00-3:00pm: (Pending on weather activities) ⬇️ ?️ Rainy day - We will hop in the car for a ride to dog friendly stores such as Petsmart/Petco, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s etc. just so the pups get to explore and socialize in a different environment. ? Beautiful Fall Weather - Let’s go for a hike! Don’t worry - we will bring plenty of water and treats for the pups. Currently, we live right by Old Town so we will take field trips out to the waterfront trails. Other spots we enjoy are Great Falls, Mount Vernon Trails, Four Mile Run, and now exploring our way into northern DMV area, such as Frederick. ☀️ Hot & Humid - We love a car ride over to Starbucks so the pups can get their own little pup cup! We love breweries and wineries so the adults can enjoy beverages while the pups get to enjoy the AC! 6:00-7:00pm: During the evening, we enjoy going to open fields and letting the dogs run and play; Just to get out any remaining pent up energy. After that, we will do a brief walk and come home to dinner. 9:00-10:00pm: The finale of the night consists of a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood so everyone has a chance to potty. By the time we go to bed, we everyone is worn out (including the barkingnanny herself). It starts all over again tomorrow!!!

Availability
Since I am a flight attendant with a varying schedule, my boyfriend and I work together to ensure someone is always home watching the pups. He works from home full time so there will always be someone on standby! I update my schedule periodically so everything is current as you see it. However, please don’t hesitate to inquire if you see a certain date not listed.
