Ear Rubbing Specialist

Pet care experience

Please note: My rates are adjustable depending on individual circumstances. I have a lot of experience, compassion, skill and patience for special needs pets. Generally, I prefer neighborhoods and rural settings over dense urban environments. I have lived on ranches and will travel beyond the indicated service area for the right situation. I avoid high density, so please bear that in mind. IH 35 is a deal breaker for me. **** If you seeking a calm, experienced, highly responsible, intelligent woman to care for your pets and home, I am available to exceed your expectations. ********************************************************************************************* Allow me to nurture your smaller fur babies!! My specialty is with Maltese, Yorkies, Bichons, Poodles, Papillions, Chihuahua, Pomerians, Terriers, King Charles, Spaniels, Shelties, Frenchies, Doxies, all Smaller Lovable Mutts. I love taking care of the petite breeds and have owned Maltese for decades. Before I discovered cat sized dogs, I owned cats for decades. However, cats don't like to travel, so I trained small dogs to travel from birth. As a general rule, I limit the size of dogs only because I want to be able to lift them in the case of emergencies. My biggest dog friend is 125 lbs of lovable fun. But alas, I cannot pick him up! However, I do make size exceptions for special needs dogs on a case by base basis.

We are so glad that we found Carol to stay with Scarlet for a week. We have never left Scarlet overnight with anyone but family but we knew once we met Carol that Scarlet would be in great hands! Scarlet has some special needs, including separation anxiety and diabetes, which requires oral and injected medicine to be given multiple times a day. Carol took great care to follow Scarlet’s schedule, took detailed notes, and made sure Scarlet was comfortable given her special needs. Carol was very communicative both leading up to the stay but also provided daily updates while we were gone. She really cared for Scarlet’s wellbeing and offered some suggestions to help with Scarlet’s special needs. Carol also left the house just as we had left it. Thank you, Carol, for letting us enjoy our vacation knowing Scarlet was well taken care of!

Carol was great. She was very punctual, responsive, knowledgeable, kind, and we felt very safe to leave our puppy with her. When we are back in the Jackson area we will certainly be reaching back out.

Carol is absolutely amazing! She watched my aging Boston Terrier for 6 days/nights in our home and he was very well taken care of. She noticed some things about his health and habits and gave us great suggestions. She was wonderful with all of his medical needs and he got all of the attention he needed and more. We highly recommend Carol!!

Carol was so good with our 3 fur babies. I know Carol usually sits for petite dogs- which ours are not! The smaller dog is over 30lbs and other 2 are over 40 plus we have a deaf dog. She took care of their medical needs and gave them so much TLC. We were all impressed with Carol! Thanks so much!

Information Carol D. would like to know about your pet

When we "meet & greet" prior to my first stay, we will review all medical issues and special dietary needs, as well as any behavior issues to be considered. My experience in giving medications is extensive. In general, my professional specialty is with pets around 40 pounds, because is about as I can lift and handle safely in case of an emergency. My size exception is for older, sedate dogs and cats with special needs. Since every situation is different, negotiation and adjustments will be considered in circumstances that do not match the posted preferences.

A typical day

I generally do not take small dogs out their home or neighborhood. For any outings with the petite breeds, I take them to public places where they are welcome, like sidewalk cafes, hotel lobbies, etc. I have a collection of special places that I have been taking my own dogs for years so that we are out on an adventure together, but not in grass or places where they are exposed to excessive pollen, yard chemicals or other dog excrement, etc.
