Wanting to address what is happening now with all of us being affected with the Covid-19 Pandemic. We are doing our best to stay safe and hope all of the great people and their pups are doing the same. There are safeguards I'm taking now so we can do all we can to keep everyone healthy. We have now gotten our vaccines and now boosted (yay) so if you are also vaccinated masks are not requested. ********************** I'm a dog owner and dog lover. Since there are times we need a sitter for our own dog, I have a good idea of what others may be looking for also. Our dog is a member of the family, she has a routine that is important to her, I will follow the routine and care that you need for your family member also. We want the best for them, don't we? Then feel guilty if leaving them behind when going somewhere. Using Rover helps us get away, while doing everything we can to make sure our girl continues to have quality care, safe and protected. That is what I'm offering to do for others. I'm retired now so available to spend my time with things I truly enjoy, that includes being with wonderful dogs. I've been around dogs and cats my entire life and a home just isn't a home without one (or two) Our Border Collie Jessi, loves to socialize with other dogs and I love to give her the opportunity, she has learned so much since she has joined our family. She can be a little timid at first, but when she sees another dog is friendly, then off they will trot together. Just a warning, she also loves to meet people and will be excited and happy to see you pull into the drive. As far as she is concerned, you are here to see her! We have a large fenced in yard so there is lots of play time, fetch is our favorite. I also enjoy taking our dog for a drive, so if yours enjoys it also, we can certainly go. While the yard is fenced, I will not leave your dog outside alone. I will be out there to keep an eye out for any concerns. If you're trusting me with someone very important, I will do everything in my power to never let you down. I try very hard to be proactive, so no dog is set up to fail or to run into danger. Not leaving them alone, ignoring their needs, pushing them into situations with other dogs. Watching out for any signs of discomfort or worry. Feeding times will be done separately. I want them to learn this is a safe place and they will be ok until they are back at home with you. Bringing nothing back but some happy memories. When inside the house, there is a lot of attention given, dogs like to be part of the pack, but if they need some quiet time to nap, that's ok also. Our home is comfortable with A/C in the summer and heat in the winter. Your dog will be watched over, loved on and cared for with me, and my husband John will be happy to get acquainted when he gets home from work. Your dog will be treated as a welcomed guest, with comfort, safety and fun as our goal. I've raised several dogs through the years, each holds a special place in my heart. Some from a puppy, others when they needed to be rescued. I've administered medications when needed and always give TLC. If you need me to come into your home, either for drop in visits or house sitting, again, I understand the trust you are placing in me. I have house sat many times, taking care of dogs, cats, fish and tropical birds. I am responsible, dependable and 100% able to take care of another dog while you need to be away. Also, I know Jessi will love having the company. I'm a pretty good dog mom but sometimes, a dog just needs to talk to another dog. Since using Rover and now being a Rover sitter, I'm seeing how this is very beneficial to her. She looks forward to going to visit the friends she has made, and is enjoying showing new friends around when they come to spend time with us here. I will only board one family's dogs at a time. I offer a true home environment, not wanting to run a kennel with multiple dogs, if I have different dogs here from multiple homes, none would really get the attention and care that I'm wanting to offer. I want to be able to make this a positive experience for everyone and be able to give them the attention and care they need. Safety for everyone has to come first and this really does have to be a firm rule. If I am not available please understand it does not mean I don't like your pup because I do, it will mean I am doing everything I can to treat them and other pups with their care and comfort in mind.
