I Can’t Wait to Care for Your Pup!
Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Carly, and I have been pet-sitting for eight years now. I have experience with dog walking, drop-in visits, and house-sitting. I am comfortable looking after any number of dogs in a household. In the past, I have mainly looked after dogs while families were away on vacation. The longest I have done a drop-in visit was three times a day for two weeks, and the longest I have house-sat was for ten nights. However, I am willing to help for any amount of time. Additionally, my main dog walking experience was taking a medium-sized dog on one-mile walks once or twice a day for three months. My favorite activity is dog walking for any time or distance. I absolutely adore dogs, and treat every one as if they were my own! In addition to dogs, I also have drop-in visit and house sitting experience for cats, birds, geckos, and frogs. I am happy to care for any pets that are part of your family. I graduated from UNCW in 2021, and I'm looking to care for pets in addition to my afternoon part-time job. I can't wait to care for your pets!

Carly was terrific and a huge help. We went away for a long weekend and she came to our house to walk and feed our two dogs, who loved her. Great communication and reasonable price.
Carly stayed with our three pups while we traveled for nearly a week. She keep the pups happy and our house very tidy. We would recommend Carly!

My approach to safety is based on being as hands on as possible. For example, if you have a fenced backyard for your dogs, I will be outside with them at all times so I can keep an eye on what they're doing. To create trust and a safe environment, I prefer to get to know the pets and their habits as much as possible beforehand, as well as your expectations for their care, so that I can do everything I can to correctly care for your pets. Additionally, I will always send photo/video updates to give you peace of mind that your pets are having the best time if that is something you would like for me to do.

I do not have any breed preferences, although it would be good to know the breed or at least size of the dog beforehand anyway. Before looking after a dog, I would mainly like to know how well they get along with other people or animals. Also, it would be good to know their energy level and if they are prone to having potty accidents in the house. This would all just be a way to get a feel for your dog, so that I am prepared to help in the best way possible.
A typical day
For dog walking, I am able to walk around the neighborhood or even take them to a favorite park to walk there. If your pup loves dog parks, then I can take them to one for a while to run around and socialize. Or if you have a fenced in yard, we could play there! I love playing fetch or tug-of-war with dogs and one of their toys. Also, I am willing to work with new pups to learn basic commands or take them to dog training classes.

Availability
I'm currently working part-time on weekdays from about 3-7:30pm, and one Saturday morning a month from 9:30-11:30am. I have plenty of time on weekday mornings to care for your pets, and would love to house-sit on the weekends!
