Hi! I’m Carly and I love animals. I currently have two rabbits and a gecko. I worked at a dog & cat shelter in Jacksonville, Florida for three years before relocating to Fort Lauderdale. I cared for many pets in Fort Lauderdale for three years and am now back in Jacksonville permanently! I have dealt with all kinds of dog and cat behaviors in both group and individual settings. I have experience with dog obedience training & young puppies/kittens. Growing up, I helped my parents train and foster many animals including special needs cats and dogs. I have experience administering medicine to dogs, cats, small animals, and reptiles. I offer dog walks and pet sitting drop in visits.

Because I have free-roaming rabbits, I am only available to watch pets in the clients home. In the client’s home, I like to try and stick to the pet’s regular schedule as closely as possible. When house sitting, I never leave dogs alone for longer than 4 hours. The only exception is puppies who can only be left alone from 1-3 hours depending on their age. I make sure fresh water (free of food particles) is always available and provide plenty of exercise for the pets via walks, backyard play, and indoor play with toys.

I am comfortable working with any and all dog/cat breeds. Before sitting a pet, I need to know whether the pet has any allergies, medical conditions, prescription medications, or specific fears.
A typical day
On walks I like to read the dog’s body language to see where it wants to go (as long as the place is safe and free of cars and other animals) and what pace the dog wants to walk at. For younger dogs, I will encourage them to try a faster pace and for seniors we will walk slowly. I love to run with high-energy dogs until they get tired so that they can be calm when they return home.

Pet care is my full time job! I walk, feed, snuggle, and talk to animals on a daily basis. When I am not house sitting, I have a wide range of availability for drop-in visits and walks. I am looking primarily for weekly dog walks and cat sitting / exotic pet visits
