Safety, trust & environment

Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities, and I treat every client's home with the same respect as my own. My approach to in-home care is built on a foundation of trust, clear communication, and a well-planned routine. Staying in a client's home allows your pet to stick to their normal routine, which helps reduce stress and anxiety. I make sure to create a calm and positive atmosphere by providing plenty of affection, playtime, and enrichment activities. Whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard, a cuddle session on the couch, or just a quiet evening together, I focus on giving your pet a happy and comfortable experience in their own space. I'll also send you regular updates and photos so you can see how well your pet is doing.

Information Carly L. would like to know about your pet

To ensure the best possible care for your pet, I take the time to understand their unique needs and routines ahead of time. During our meet-and-greet, I'll ask for key information that helps me provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience. What I Need to Know Routine: We'll discuss their daily schedule, including feeding times, walk schedules, and potty breaks. Behavior: It's important for me to know about their personality, including any fears, anxieties, or specific quirks. Do they have separation anxiety? Are they reactive to other dogs or people on walks? Health: I'll ask about any medical conditions, allergies, or medications they may need. I'll also confirm your vet's information and your preferred emergency contact. House Rules: To keep their routine consistent, I'll need to know where they are allowed to be in the house, if they are crated at night, and any other specific rules you have. This preparation allows me to step in with confidence and give your pet the seamless, loving care they deserve while you're away.

A typical day

Morning The day begins with a potty break, a short walk, and breakfast. We'll follow that with some indoor play or mental stimulation to get their minds going. Afternoon The afternoon is for exercise and fun. We'll enjoy a longer walk through your neighborhood or backyard, a game of fetch, and some one-on-one cuddle time. I'll make sure they have plenty of fresh water and a treat. Evening The day winds down with dinner and some gentle playtime or a final short walk. I'll give them lots of affection before bedtime. I'll send you photo updates throughout the day so you can see how much fun your pet is having.

Pet care experience

I've been a dedicated dog lover my entire life. Growing up, I had a dog who taught me the importance of companionship and responsibility. Three years ago, I welcomed a new Labrador into my life. I've personally handled her training, which has given me a deep understanding of dog behavior, positive reinforcement, and the importance of a consistent routine. For the past four years, I've been expanding my experience by caring for the dogs of family and friends. This has allowed me to care for a wide range of breeds and personalities, from playful puppies to calm senior dogs. I'm skilled in providing personalized care that meets the unique needs of each dog. You can trust that your furry family member is in experienced and loving hands.

This was our first time having someone that Ginger didn't know look after her. She did well and we felt confident leaving her with Carly. Carly was flexible, as we had to alter our plans slightly at the last minute, and we're grateful for that.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Carly Leishear since 2015 when she was eleven years old. I first met Carly through working with her mother, and over the years she has become a trusted, dependable, and caring part of our family’s life. Carly began babysitting my son when he was a toddler, and from the very start she showed remarkable maturity and responsibility well beyond her years. She formed a genuine bond with him, keeping him safe, happy, and engaged through creative play, outdoor activities, and patient guidance. Over the years, she continued to be a consistent and reliable presence in his life, always attentive to his needs and respectful of our household routines. As my son grew older, Carly’s role naturally expanded to also caring for our dog. She approached pet care with the same level of dedication—making sure our dog was well-fed, exercised, and loved while we were away. Carly is mature, reliable, and trustworthy, with a calm and friendly demeanor that makes her a joy to work with. Whether caring for children or pets, she takes her responsibilities seriously and approaches them with both professionalism and kindness. I can recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking a dependable and caring caregiver.

I am writing to offer my enthusiastic recommendation for Carly Leishear, who has provided exceptional care for my dog. Carly consistently demonstrated responsibility, compassion, and a genuine love for animals during the time she cared for my pet. From daily walks to overnight stays, Carly approached every task with professionalism and warmth. She was reliable, attentive, and communicated regularly with updates and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. My dog clearly felt comfortable and happy in her care – a true testament to Carly’s natural rapport with animals. Carly goes above and beyond what’s expected. She not only ensured my dog’s basic needs were met, but also provided companionship, enrichment, and thoughtful attention to detail. It’s rare to find someone so trustworthy and dedicated. I wholeheartedly recommend Carly Leishear for any pet care position. She would be a tremendous asset to any family looking for someone who will treat their pet as her own.

I first met Carly when she was in elementary school, and I have had the pleasure of watching her grow through the eyes of her mom, who I have worked with for many years. So, when I needed someone to watch my pets while I was going on vacation, Carly was the first person who came to mind. When she came by to meet my pets before the trip, she listened closely as I shared their routines and quirks, and she asked thoughtful questions that showed she was really thinking about their needs. I felt like I could trust her immediately. While I was away she went above and beyond- sending me photos of my pets (which I hadn't even asked for) and reaching out with questions when one of my dogs was behaving a little unusually. Carly cared for two dogs, two cats, and two fish for a little more than a week and when I returned home, my pets were happy and healthy and my house looked exactly as I had left it. It was such a relief to know my pets and my home were in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Carly for pet sitting. She is trustworthy, attentive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals.
