Returning the Love Dogs Give Us

Pet care experience

I have always had a ton of love for dogs, and can’t wait to meet new furry friends! I’ve always enjoyed watching pups for friends and family, and have volunteered with dogs in the past as well. Through a service called Muttville, my roommates and I fostered elderly dogs until they were adopted and moved into forever homes. Working with Rover has also been a great experience, and I’ve gotten to take care of a number of different dogs too. I also have lots of experience working with dogs that have disabilities, which is always a very rewarding experience. Update: I have now graduated college and founded an apparel company which donates 10% of our proceeds toward battling the opioid epidemic, and therefore unfortunate had to l cease doing dog boarding (in case any of our customers have animal allergies). Aside from that, I love going on long walks to ensure your pup gets ample exercise - sometimes hikes depending on your pups needs! Depending on the day, I can be a major homebody or the complete opposite. I have played all sorts of sports and can toss a ball to a pup in an open field all day. I also enjoy traveling and meeting new people from all walks of life. I believe that both pups and people have a lot to tell me about the world at large! With regard to client care, I always strive to be punctual with my responses about initial inquiries as well as conversation during the stay. Sending photos and videos during my stay with your pup is easily the most rewarding part about the stay. I always enjoy documenting our adventures together, and love to see owners light up when they get some great snaps of their pup having a great time!

The one week home sitting session with Carly was not pleasant - 1. she was reluctant to send us photos of our dog and used different excuses. One day she promised a photo after no photo for 2+ days so we waited till late at night and she still didn’t send anything. After we asked again she sent us an old photo (we checked the time stamp). We then told her that we have to do video chat to make sure our dog is safe. She again made excuse like she has to sleep or she doesn’t know how to turn on the light. As we insist a video chat, she then told us that she needs 15min to prepare as her friend was IN OUR APARTMENT (which we didn’t authorize at all). In the end we saw our dog which looks ok but we were worried and in stress for a few hours and thought our dog might be in danger. 2. After back home we found all the flowers on balcony were destroyed by our dog and there were poos on balcony as well. He only does that when he was locked outside for an endured length. That was super dangerous as the fence on the balcony is not narrow enough so he could fall from 5th floor. Again we don’t know how many time he was locked outside during the week and why Carly did that. 3. Our apartment was not in a clean state after the house sit session. We understand the normal wear and tear and don’t expect her to professionally clean anything. But come on - toilet that is not flushed? used our hair brush and didn’t clean? We used a lot of dogwalker and sitters in the past but this is the first time we were worried everyday about our dog’s safety and well-being. Maybe Carly didn’t mean anything bad but clearly she didn’t understand what it takes to be a responsible dog sitter

Carly was amazing! We didn’t have to worry about PG at all. She sent photos of his walks and even bathed and brushed his teeth! I would definitely recommend Carly.

Information Carly I. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

When I'm watching smaller dogs, I love taking them out on the town with me. Obviously we will take walks at least twice a day, or as many times as requested by the owner. Near my home there are three dog parks, two of which have separated areas for smaller dogs and bigger dogs, and as well as agility training courses! I like to see what kind of innate abilities each kind of dog has. Being that I am in my initial medical school courses, and taking two online courses during the summer, I can basically make my own schedule. When I’m watching your pup, I’ll be spending all of my time with them. And if it’s okay with you, I’d allow them in my bed to sleep with me!
