Pet care experience
When your pet is with me, I will love and treat them like my own! I'm an active young professional who has been living in Santa Barbara since 2006. I've grown up with dogs, fostered dogs, and in 2010 adopted my senior dog Scooby. Sweet Scooby passed away in September 2016, so I currently have no full-time dog residents in my house. I work full-time Mon-Fri, but my office is located less than 10 minutes away. I always come home for a long lunch to check on, let out, walk, or feed any dogs in my care (every 4 hours). If there are multiple dogs staying, all dogs are kept separate whenever left unsupervised. Dogs are not required to be crate trained, but I ask that they be fully house broken and that you alert me of any nervous habits your pet may have! My home is a single-story duplex with a private fenced yard, currently inhabited by 2 adults. I am the sole caregiver for any visiting dogs, but my boyfriend James will provide extra love and a lap to snuggle for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments! Your dog will always sleep indoors and can spend their 'spare time' however they prefer! I live just 1 block from the Modoc Preserve, which is filled with great walking trails! Dogs are always kept on leash for safety reasons, but there's plenty of room for us to run together.

Carly responded frequently with pictures and updates on how my dog Pepper was doing. She had another dog there too which was great so Pepper had a play buddy. He also was given a hike to get out for some exercise.
Carly was amazing. Took great care of our dog and was in communication the whole time we were on our trip. Highly recommended!
Carly was fantastic with our puggle Benny! She kept me informed with updates and pics, which made our little vacation even more fun. Carly is very professional and experienced.

If your dog would prefer to be the only pet in the house, please let me know in your initial message! I do my best to ensure owners know of any scheduled overlaps, but it's easier if I know your preferences ahead of time! Dogs are not required to be crate trained, but I ask that they be fully house broken and that you alert me of any nervous habits your pet may have!
A typical day
Being located near the Modoc Preserve, amazing walking trails are literally right outside! The Preserve offers multiple trails to choose from, so your dog can receive as long and vigorous walk as they need! Walks will be provided as requested, though on an average day your dog will receive a 20 minute walk in the morning, lunch breaks will be 30-45 minutes of playing in the yard or a short walk, and evening walks will be longest, or can include trips to the dog park or dog beach! In the evenings and on weekends dogs will have unlimited but fully-supervised time in the yard.
