I am a hands on, down to earth animal lover
Pet care experience
I am currently studying Dog Daycare Management and I have completed a short course in Behaviourism and The Science of Scent. Having grown up on a farm, my passion for animals is intrinsic and I have experience with a variety of species (cats, rabbits, horses, hamsters, goats, sheep and various others). Since I was old enough I have volunteered at Vets and Shelters to gain as much experience as possible. I have 2 dogs of my own and have been doing dog walking and boarding for the last 7 years. I believe in the “least intrusive, minimally aversive” training method and enjoy giving dogs the most fulfilling and stimulating walks possible. Past responsibilities included; - Walking and trail running with up to 5 dogs at a time - Basic grooming; bathing, brushing, teeth cleaning, nail cutting etc. - Entrusted to enter homes of dog owners to collect and drop off for daily walks - Overnight Home Boarding for dogs, both at my own home and at the clients home - Administering of topical and oral medication - Documenting all activities, feeding and medications administered - Assisting in rearing puppies (Great Danes, Italian Greyhounds and German Shepherds) Covid-19 precautions I vigilantly follow the latest guidelines set out by the government, and take the following measures when walking your dog; - Wash or sanitise hands between dog walks, and before and after entering your home - Disinfect my car between dogs - I use my own lead which is 100% washable and is disinfected between dog walks - Keep 2m away from people wherever possible - Minimise time spent in your home and keep social distance between any members of the family that may be home - I am happy to take any extra measures that may be required to keep everyone safe
Reviews
We can’t thank Carly enough for her help, flexibility, calmness, great planned walks, when looking after our puppy. Our puppy was a very happy soul! We enjoyed the videos and pics and updates Carly sent, she really captured the true nature of our puppy, like she has known him before :)
We couldn't recommend Carly enough! We have a 32kg German pointer who is a COVID pup and as a result nervous around people. Our dog Louis adores Carly and runs happily to her when she gets to the door! Carly's wonderfully calm nature and genuine love for dogs shines through in her work! It's incredibly reassuring to us knowing our boy is in such good hands!
Carly is brilliant, my dog is a rescue and unsure of new people and Carly knew exactly what to say and do to put us both at ease. Would definitely recommend her!
Carly is very friendly and honest person. Carly seems to really knows dogs, would definitely book Carly to walk Lui again!

Information Carly B. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know the following about your dog; Breed Age Gender (whether or not they are neutered) Feeding requirement, allergies and treat allowances House rules at home, for consistency (are they allowed on the bed, sofa etc.) How is your dog with other dogs, people, children etc.? (are there any issues I should know about) Is your dog okay off lead? Is their recall good? What games do they enjoy? Fetch, Tug, Wrestling etc. Vets contact information Any special requests?
A typical day
I believe in Proper Walkies; Exercise, stimulating smells and engaging play. I try to engage with each dog in the way they best enjoy, be that with a ball, squirrel chasing, a rough game of tug or a gentle stroll. When dogs stay over with me they are treated like royalty, within the parameters set out by their parents (if they aren't allowed on the sofa at home I will maintain those rules). I create a private space for them where they are comfortable and safe, and they will have more attention than they can consume. Having my own dog with strict dietary requirements I am very mindful of following instructions with regards to this.
