Rebooked Carlo for 8/26-8/31. He asked to do it off rover with cash, and I agreed. A friend was watching my dog when his services were suppose to start as we had already left town. Carlo told me he now had a job 3-11, I said that wasn’t a big deal as long as he was at the house at night and took her for a longer walk before leaving for work. He agreed, he also told me he’d be able to come over 8/26 before work to meet my friend for the pup exchange as Osa doesn’t do great with strangers and hadn’t seen Carlo in over a month. My friend notified me that Carlo said he wouldn’t be able to come over before work meaning he’d be walking into my house around 11:30pm. After he watched her the first time (in July) I purchased a ring camera because I didn’t like knowing if he was doing what he said. After we got no notification the evening of 8/26, we realized our settings were wrong and corrected them. This time, despite originally telling me he’d be able to start prior to 3pm on 8/26, the first time we have him on our camera is leaving the house on 8/27 at 4:23pm. So we aren’t sure when he arrived but know he didn’t take her for a walk on 8/27. Then he didn’t come back until 1:22pm on 8/28. Meaning he left her home alone for almost 24hrs. He immediately took her for a 20min walk and left again 5 min after finishing the walk. At 7:23 pm that night a neighbor came to the door to let us know Osa was loose in the neighborhood. When we saw that message I immediately called Carlo. He did agree to leave work to go look for her but my friends were able to get there first and found her. She was in their car when Carlo showed up. Given the escape and that my friend had gotten bad vibes communicating with Carlo initially, she told him they’d watch Osa for the remainder of the time. I texted him the same. He had no personal affects in the house to gather (fishy since he was suppose to be living there for 6 days) handed over the key and left. I have heard nothing from him since. No apology or offer to return the money. My dog had chewed threw the wood at the bottom of our gate to escape, thankfully we don’t live on a busy street and my neighbor saw her otherwise who knows how long she would have been out without us knowing.

Carlo did a terrific job watching my dog and cat in my home while I was away for a couple of days. He was very conscientious and kept me apprised on how my senior dog was doing. I appreciated the fact that he asked questions when things came up to be sure everything went perfectly. My animals liked him right away when he came for the meet and greet, and that is always very reassuring when using a pet-sitter for the first time. I highly recommend Carlo and will use him again in the future.
