I am an avid dog rescuer who has a passion for helping and training my foster dogs. I own 2 mastiffs and a miniature Schnauzer, but my home isn't complete without the pitter patter of foster pups running around. I've worked at a dog kennel on and off for 15 years (2005 -2020), and now have a full time job working with kids in a special education classroom. I have a roommate who also helps out, so generally dogs aren’t left alone for more than 4 hours. I have taken a dog first aid/cpr course and have learned a lot about dog behavior through fostering and working at the dog boarding facility. I am patient and understanding and will work with any type of dog personality. I change my training style and demeanor to best fit the dog. Some dogs need a firm handler, others need a more quiet and less confrontational approach. I do have a full time job, but as I stated above, my roommate is often home when I’m not and vice versa. I spend the majority of my free time with my four legged friends. My dogs are well socialized and comfortable with any dog that comes into their home. I do have a specific way on integrating new dogs in to my home so as to ensure everyone feels safe and everything stays positive and under control. Staying at a new place can be exciting, and/or scary which can creates a higher intensity environment. I introduce your dog to my pack when things have calmed down, and he/she is more relaxed. Because of this, chances are you won’t see any of my pups when you initially drop off your dog. I am more than happy to provide any accommodations that I can to make your pet's stay as comfortable as possible. My home isn't very big, but it's cozy, private and definitely a dog house. I live on almost 3 acres, with about half an acre being fenced. I provide plenty of socialization, exercise and cuddles at home. We have walking trails behind my house and down the street so no one ever gets bored! I am always available via phone for any updates or questions you may have!
