Hello, I'm Carla, and my passion for caring for dogs is deeply rooted in my own experiences with my beloved companion, Candy, whom I adopted from Orphans of the Storm when she was just a 1.5. Now, at the age of 13, Candy remains my faithful companion, and I credit her for bringing immense fulfillment into my life. Despite her age, Candy is an active and lively companion. Regular walks have proven essential in maintaining her overall health and helping with her arthritis. My canine journey began in childhood, surrounded by English Bulldogs. Over the years, I've shared my home with a Chihuahua, Black Labrador, and English Bulldog. While my past experiences include dog walking and boarding, a change in living arrangements prompted me to discontinue the boarding aspect. Having faced the challenge of finding trustworthy care for Candy, I understand the importance of reliable and compassionate pet care. Recently, I've embarked on a new venture by volunteering at Orphans of the Storm, where I'll be actively involved in dog walking. The joy and satisfaction I derive from caring for dogs extend beyond my personal life, driving me to contribute to the well-being of other canine companions in need. Recognizing the stress associated with entrusting a beloved pet to someone else's care, I approach dog walking with a thorough understanding of the responsibility involved. I have experience handling leash-aggressive behavior since that is how Candy used to be. I've successfully gained control over Candy, curbing undesirable behaviors like pulling, lunging, and barking.
