Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities since I was 15. I've owned dogs my entire life, but I am truly obsessed with caring for all animals. I currently care for ferrets, dogs and cats. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs. I'm comfortable boarding pets at my house, or coming to your house to care for them. I am attentive, caring, communicative, and very responsible! I will care and love for your pets as if they were my own. My fiancé is a very experienced foster dog "dad," who often shares sitting duties with me. He works mostly nights at Albany Med, so he is typically around during the day to hang out and take care of pets.

Cara is awesome! She took care of my dog Stevie for years when she lived in NYC. As her cousin, I've known Cara her entire life and she has always been the biggest animal lover. She is gentle, loving and incredibly kind. Cara is literally the person who you see saving baby birds on the side of the road. Animals just flock to her. She is a natural caregiver, which is further proved by her long experience as a nanny. Cara is very responsible and will treat your pets with tons of love and attention.
Cara did an amazing job watching our dog Ava! She gave us such a peace of mind of knowing that we didn’t have to worry the weekend we were away because of how good of care she gives and how much our dog loves her!

Plus, I get just as much out of caring for your pets as they do! It is truly like a form of therapy and self-love for me, because I love animals so much. Information Cara S. would like to know about your pet
- We have a backyard but its not fenced in, so we usually keep dogs on a leash for quick potty breaks and try to take them on longer walks at least 2x a day. Do your dogs need a certain amount of exercise daily? - Are your pups okay being left alone? Do you crate him/her while they're home alone? We have no problem letting them chill at the house without a crate if they're well trained. We've just had a few dogs destroy some books, plants, etc. so I always double check! - Do they have any other particular needs or things that you would like us to know before we care for them?
A typical day
We do not have a fenced in backyard, so we like to take dogs on frequent walks around the neighborhood. We also live close to Albany Academy, and when school is not in session we will take pups to the fields to play catch! We also like to take dogs exploring through Washington Park. We also occasionally take dogs to the dog park. However, I will NEVER take your dog off leash at a dog park if there are other dogs there. We also love going hiking in the Catskills, and if you are comfortable, and your dog(s) are up for it, we would love to bring them with! Depending on the dog's personality, and your level of comfortability, really enjoy taking your pups with me wherever I go. Whether its just to run a few errands, grab food or a drink somewhere outside, etc.

Availability
I'm currently in law school full-time, however my schedule is fairly light and allows a lot of flexibility in terms of scheduling! For the most part, I am able to adjust my schedule to fit with your pets' needs. Especially in regards to home stays, I live only 5 minutes from my school and so it is very easy for my to pop home in between classes to check in on animals, potty breaks, etc. If you are requesting overnight stays at your house and/or daily drop ins, please be advised that I do charge extra for long distances. The amount depends on the distance and number of visits per day. Thank you in advance for your understanding!
