As far back as I can remember working with dogs has been a major part of my life. It started with my grandfather who worked with and trained German Shepherds in Vietnam. He sparked an interest in working with dogs in my mother who opened her own dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training facility. I loved working along side her so much that I requested to be home schooled so that I could be there every day working with the dogs and keeping the business going. My mother also volunteered with a Golden Retriever rescue, she successfully re-rehabilitated and re-homed an average of 20 dogs a year! Working closely with so many Goldens also meant keeping quite a few. We had FIVE Golden Retrievers that we chose to keep as part of our family! When I was 11 I found an interest in AKC conformation dog shows. My mother found me a mentor to travel the country with going to dog shows, seminars, and expos. My mentor bred AKC Giant Schnauzers which require a lot of training and grooming. Eventually I got married to my husband who is a US Marine and started a family. I had to leave dog showing behind but still had a love for dog grooming. I became a certified dog groomer and work part time as a groomer. As a groomer I fell in love with Standard Poodles and want to see the breed flourish. We breed health tested, AKC registered Standard Poodles (which is why we have so many poodles ?). My husband also has a background with dogs. Both sets of his grandparents bred Boston Terriers and his parents have a huge passion for pugs. He also has a special place in his heart for pit bulls after owning one that he feels was the best dog ever. I began pet sitting as a way to supplement our income and give me the much needed extra doggy time that Im so accustomed to!
