Artist and Animal Lover!

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Cara! I’m coming back onto Rover after a period of traveling & working! I’m glad to be back in NYC and to meet your pups. I grew up with three dogs: a Jack Russell, a Pointer, and an 80-pound Lab mix. As a kid, I volunteered at our local animal shelter and have fostered a few puppies in the past few years! As a dog walker, I have experience with larger breeds (Pitbulls and Labs) but I am open to caring for any type of dog! I love all sizes and breeds and have been dog sitting since I was allowed to do so at the age of 16. I love animals so much and am the person who will say hello to every stranger’s dog I see. Animals have always been a big part of my life. At age five, I declared that I would be an artist or a veterinarian. (My parents are still a little unsure why I chose to be an artist.) Since I live a somewhat nomadic lifestyle that doesn’t allow me to have a pet of my own, dog sitting gives me the opportunity to spoil animals! I’m a theater artist with a passion for teaching and directing. I am the happiest when I’m in rehearsal working on a show! I’m back in NYC after some time away and can’t wait to meet your pet!

Cara was absolutely wonderful!!! My dogs adored her from the moment she walked in the door. She sent me regular “pupdates” and when I got home, everything in the house was just as I left it and the puppies seemed happy and well cared for. I enjoyed my time away because I knew my babies were in good hands. Thanks for everything, Cara!!!?❤️

Cara did a fantastic job house sitting for me at the last minute. My dog was happy to see me but her anxiety was very short compared to other long trips. I think she has a new best friend. She looks healthy and I think she liked the walks.

A typical day

I love going to the neighborhood dog park and would love to bring your dog there if they are the social kind. I’m also a huge fan of couch snuggles.
