Life is more fun with dogs in it!

Pet care experience

I truly enjoy the company of dogs. I'm interactive with dogs and know that most like to be petted, brushed, exercised, or just given attention. My 15 year-old yellow lab is my very best friend and needs special attention sometimes. Trusting someone to watch over him when I'm gone is a big deal. So I understand the anxiety that dog owners and their dogs experience when they are separated. I currently have a flexible schedule, therefore it should be easy to set up dog visits and/or walks. If there are favorite toys used for fetching, that just adds to the fun. I've had to use home remedies for upset bellies and a know a few first aide techniques. I am an honest person who will watch over your dog(s) while you are away do you don't have to worry.

Hope really liked Cara. She’s a shy dog and Cara was patient with her.

I have known cara for over fifteen years as a friend and a loving dog parent. She is responsible, caring, and attentive. She has always been a animal activist and involved in community outreach, such as helping to establish a local community dog park. I would recommend her for any opportunity to love your dog, as she loves her own.

Skills

25 years of experience
Oral medication administration
First aid/CPR
Senior dog experience
Can provide daily exercise

Information Cara D. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the dog has any health issues or concerns. Does he/she have all vaccinations? Who is the primary veterinarian? Does anything spark aggressive behavior in the dog? Is he/she aggressive with other dogs or people? No breed preferences.

A typical day

There are several walking trails in Vancouver, including Burnt Bridge Creek and Salmon Creek trails that I frequent for walking dogs. Depending their owner's approval, some dogs like to socialize with other dogs at the local dog parks. Others like the open field for fetching their ball or stick. If they prefer their own neighborhood route, or like to stay at home and play with their own toys, that fine also.
