Let me ❤ your pet while your away!

Pet care experience

I have been a full-time Rover sitter for almost three years now and I have loved every minute of it! I board, walk & house sit animals of all shapes and sizes. Somehow I still manage to fit in classes on Canine Behavior Management in my spare time because dogs are my passion. I enjoy trying out all the enrichment and obedience skills I learn with my furry clients and I think they enjoy it too. If you are currently training your dog or you think they need to practice a certain skill while they are with me, id be more than happy to spend some time practicing with your pet.

We left our two little doggies with Candice for 10 days during a vacation. We had never left them with anyone other than a family member. She was fabulous! She treated them as her own babies and sent me updates multiple times each day. It was very clear that she was taking care of them in a very special and loving way. When we arrived home, our house was immaculate, and our pups were happy and content. We were able to enjoy our vacation without worrying about our fur babies.

Candice is the best pet sitter I have had on Rover! She dedicates herself to the pets she is caring for, as Petsitting is her full-time job by choice. My dog became part of her family and fell in love with her. I got an instant comfort in Candice‘s professionalism because she is educated in canine behavior and makes a great effort to individualize care for each pet, according to their personality and their specific needs. She appreciates detailed directions and follows them. I’m an anxious dog mom and I was able to feel 100% comfortable with Candice petsitting while I was away for over a week for my son‘s wedding! Can’t wait to book her again!

This was the first time we used Candice for an extended stay (house sit for a week) and she was fantastic!! Last minute Molly needed eye drops and Candice was up for the challenge and handled everything professionally. We appreciated the daily updates and pictures and knew Molly was in excellent hands! We hope to use her services again in the future!

We feel very lucky to have been referred to the Rover experience, and moreover very blessed to have been referred to Candice specifically, by a dear friend. We were even fortunate that Candice happened to be free during the core timeframe we needed her services since it was still such a busy time of year for her and with quite a last-minute booking, and meet and greet on our part. Candice was so pleasant and on time for the meet and greet. She allowed us a thorough amount of time to introduce our working dog/K9 to her, especially since all of my notes on routine, and all the specifics of his needs (and wants lol) had not been fully outlined yet. This included the need for her to learn everyday and obedience commands in a European language, a challenge she met with excitement and sincere interest. It was obvious early on that Johnny took to Candice, and allowed her into his circle of trust like an old pal. Which helped to put my husband and I at ease. By the end of the meet and greet, we felt confident in handing over keys with the promise of finalizing documentation before we left, and any supplemental documentation she may find further helpful within the first few days of our departure (due to the short timeframe). During our trip, Candice kept us consistently and appropriately up-to-date on how Johnny was doing and how their bond continued to grow. Given the numerous things that we had to worry about with this trip, including my current limitations and disability, it was clear that worrying about Johnny, as we’ve had to do in the past (even when boarding at the vet!) was not necessary. She stuck to his routine, gave him excellent exercise; and in every picture, he seemed happy, loved and healthy. And she even had to contend with some heavy rain which for anyone who understands working dogs (even medium drive at the age of six) knows this is no easy task. She even made sure he had a special sixth birthday meal since we left for our trip on the day of his birthday. The house was left clean and tidy, and Candice ensured that our postal mail and any packages were brought inside. We anticipate using Candice’s services and welcoming her into our home to care for Johnny again whether for short term or long term gigs. K9 Johnny himself has already made requests on “his” calendar. And we highly recommend Candice and her expert care to other clients. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Candice. J. Dawg already misses you!

Information Candice K. would like to know about your pet

It's very important for me to know if your dog is fearful, reactive or dog/food aggressive. None of these things mean I won't take your dog, it just means I need to create the right environment for your dog before arrival. I want both you and your pet to enjoy their stay with me.

A typical day

Since I'm attending school for canine training I love to try out all the new enrichment techniques I learn at school with my doggie guests. I also love to roller skate with high energy dogs. I live in a suburban neighborhood with sidewalks everywhere if your dog would prefer a leisurely stroll. No matter what the energy level I have an activity that will fit!
