I have had dogs my entire life. I currently have a border collie (12 yrs old) and my Lab (14 yrs old). They are my children, before I had children! My daughter is in love with both of them. Other than my child and husband, dogs are, without question, my favorite in life. Your pet will be pampered here! I am available most any time. My expierience: I have an extensive agricultural background. Because of this, I am very knowledgeable when it comes to animal behavior. I have worked with dogs, horses, cattle, goats and sheep all my life. But dogs were always a part of the family growing up. In addition to our three dogs, my parents always seemed to come across dogs on the side of the road left to fend for themselves in the middle of no where. I took on the “nurse roll” and nourished dogs of every breed, size and age back to health. After recovery, we would either find the home who lost their pet, or find a good home for the ones abandoned, or they became a part of the family, living their days on a ranch with 3 miles of river front on the Nueces River to swim in. I suppose this is where my obsession with dogs came about. I came home every day from school waiting to go run and play with my dogs. I have worked with vets, and spent my childhood drenching and working goats and cattle, and training dogs up to 120 pounds, so size is not an issue for me, as long as the dog is child friendly. Your pet will either hang out with me all day in the house, or they can have their own room if they are not comfortable around other dogs or cats. If they are not, I can alternate between your dogs and my dogs so no one is cooped up all day. My house has a large fenced yard with plenty of room to run and play. I also take care of my senior dogs and cat, who all take medication for various things. Therefore, I am capable of administering any medication your pet might need. If you have more then one pet needing a safe place to stay, I am willing to take all of them if they are from the same family. Dog fights can get bad in a instant, and I wouldn’t want anyone to worry about that being a possibility. However, if your dogs need separation during feeding time, I totally understand and have the room to manage that. This is a dog-loving family!
