Pet care experience
Lifelong friend of animals. My family has always included one or a few animals. I grew up with rambunctious boxer siblings, sweet golden retrievers, a loyal but destructive border collie, a feisty yorkie, and even a California King Snake. I understand some animals require more attention than others, as ours have had their share of health and behavior needs. I have experience administering medication, caring for injuries, and deescalating/comforting in a manner that will keep your animal safe and well. We recently moved to the GR area, (previously in Cincinnati) and are looking forward to meeting some new faces!

Caleb and his wife did an amazing job with our young miniature dachshund puppy Schroeder. They were very communicative and provided updates daily. I highly recommend them as a trustworthy and caring dog sitters!!

We live in a two bedroom apartment in Wyoming/Grandville. We have a friendly cat named Mingka, and she gets along well with dogs, although not other cats. She *likes* birds too much though, unfortunately, for us to take care of them. We both love animals as we grew up with many of them, and we will treat your pet like we would our own— with the best possible care and attention to detail. I am in the process of getting certified in Dog CPR, First Aid + Safety in accordance with Melanie Monteiro’s cerification course on Udemy. We also keep a pet First Aid kit handy in case of emergency.

Information Caleb S. would like to know about your pet
We ask that all animals are able to get along with our cat, Mingka. She is sweet, gentle, and playful, and often with dogs there is a warmup period where they learn how to interact. We would keep a pet gate on our guest room to give Mingka a space for herself if she needs it. Please be forthcoming with medical conditions, behavioral details, and any specific requests you may have for us in order to take the best possible care of your pet!
A typical day
There are plenty of sidewalks nearby to take short or long walks. We both love to play with animals and make them feel loved. We take daily walks, so if your furry friend needs to get out and move, we’re happy to take them with us. Feel free to bring their toys or favorite items to help keep them comforted during their stay. If they’re cuddly/like to sleep on the bed, we’ll try to accommodate them. We generally leave our bedroom door open so animals can decide where they want to hang out if they’re with us overnight.

I work from home M - F, and I’m able to take breaks frequently for walks/exercise, food and playtime. On the weekends, we generally make a few trips to hang out with friends, but generally aren’t away from home for more than a few hours at a time, and will make whatever adjustments we can to make sure your friend is taken care of.
