Knowing the dog's personality would really help in preparation. Also finding out how much training they have and if they have any habits of chewing or accidents. Very important would be if they are currently taking any medication or have specific allergies or food specifications to administer.

We enjoy taking our dogs on walks through our neighborhood and they always love getting a little exercise. It's usually a leisurely walk, letting the dogs stop and sniff trees and light poles and mailboxes as we go by. Indoors, the dogs usually like to play fetch in the living room or sit or lay down and be pet and get their belly rubbed. Who doesn't love attention?! Then there's always the backyard available to run and play off leash, helping to get that energy out! My wife Yen works part time, and I work full time, so there's someone at home most of the day. The dogs are never crated during the day while someone is home, and we're home most of the day. We're absent from the home no more than 5 hours Tues - Fri. When we're not there the dogs are kept in their crates and the house alarm is set for their protection.
