COVID Safe, Professional Care

Pet care experience

**COVID-19 INFO** My safe practices include: - wearing a mask - screening clients for COVID-19 symptoms - being vaccinated and staying up to date on boosters ** My experience: I have lived with multiple pets all my life. Throughout that time I have helped countless animals, be it through volunteer work, TNR, rescuing strays, or caring for my own. I have had lots of hands-on experience with veterinary care and dog boarding. I also have cared for other animals including cats, tortoises, lizards, snakes, arthropods, and fish. Why I love dog sitting: I was a dog lover from the beginning: my first dog was a chow-retriever mix who was adopted a year before I was born. Since then I've had pretty much every size and temperament of dog from Yorkie and Min-Pin to wolf-mix and Scottish Deer Hound. Because of that I just really enjoy working with animals and learning from them. My experience administering medication: I have given dogs (and cats) pills, shots, antibiotic eye ointment, you name it. As long as you tell me how you want me to administer it and give me the medication for the animal, it should be hunky-dory. If your dog has any special needs (i.e. - lots of play, medications, special feeding, scheduled vet visits, etc.) I am comfortable and capable of caring for them.

Calder was an excellent sitter for our cat! Calder was very responsive on the rover app and spent extra time with our cat while we were away. Would highly recommend!

Calder took excellent care of our two large dogs-our one shy dog warmed up to them right away. We had to leave town quickly due to a family emergency—the photos, communication, and overall calm energy Calder had while dropping in helped us relax during a stressful time!

I am so happy that Caledonia is able to care for my Cassie. My dog has developed a bond and I was able to relax and not worry about being so far away . Caledonia is a treasure and I highly recommend her.

Code of conduct: When I'm in a client's home I make a point to maintain clear boundaries. I only go in places the owner shows me and I keep to myself. I don't eat, drink, or use anything that is not explicitly given. If it's an overnight stay I don't mind sleeping on couches or the floor. I'm most comfortable on the floor rolling around with dogs and cats anyway, so that makes it easy :) Note: Formerly, my name was Caledonia so some old reviews show that name.

Information Calder C. would like to know about your pet

I do not discriminate against breed, size, gender, etc. However, I would like to get to know your dog. For instance, do they have any fears like hats, water, other dogs, or inanimate objects? Do they have any aggression around food, animals, or people? Are there currently any special circumstances (i.e. - intact dog in heat, medications, injuries, etc)? Are they up to date on shots? Please tell me everything there is to know.

A typical day

I like to play with dogs and get to know them, so you can rest assured that yours will get plenty of attention! If your dog is more of an introvert, I'm the kind of person that lets them come to me on their own terms. Because of the heat in Tucson I prefer to walk dogs either early morning or late afternoon. I do not walk dogs in temperatures higher than 75-85 degrees depending on the weather and the dog (for instance, brachycephalic breeds like pugs and boxers must be walked in cooler temperatures).
