Loving Pet Care Proffessional

Pet care experience

About Me and My History with Animals: My name is Casey, I have owned, cared for and loved animals my entire life. Growing up I had cats, rodents, fish and I even rescued a pigeon from some local cats when it's wing was broken and it couldn't escape. I have always loved dogs but my mom is allergic and my dad is scared of them. When I was very young I used to climb through a hole in my grandma's fence to visit her neighbor and her Basset Hound Bogie, giving him milk bones is one of my fondest childhood memories. My mother and I would always ooh and ah over dogs that walked by, amused by the ones with particularly fluffy backsides. It wasn't until I was 17 that I moved into a household with a Rottweiler and a German Shepard mix and dogs changed my life for the first time. Roxy and Nikka will always be so special to me because they sparked an even deeper love for dogs. Ever since, I have lived with and cared for numerous dogs. Dogs changed my life for the second time when I began working as an attendant at a local doggie daycare/hotel and helping care for them helped me recover from a period of particularly poor health, giving me motivation and the enthusiasm to be more and more active and rebuild my strength and stamina. I worked there for over a year watching up to 40 dogs at a time in an open play environment and attended the dog walking academy at Top Dog SF to ensure I had the skills to be the best care taker I can for all the dogs I care for. I left the daycare when I realized their priority was profit over the well being of the dogs and I couldn't bare to see it anymore. I went out on my own and ran my own pet care business focusing on the well being of the animals above all else. It lasted almost a year before I realized the amount of dog walking I was doing wasn't something my body could maintain. However, I miss the connections and light that caring for pets brought to my life so I'm dipping my toes back in hoping to focus less on regular/daily walks but drop-ins and dog sitting so I can provide quality care to pets without overwhelming my body. About Animal Care: I am happy to care for animals of all kinds; I have extensive experience caring for dogs, cats and rodents, as well as a bit of experience caring for reptiles, fish and birds. I have been certified in dog first aid and CPR. I have experience walking leash reactive dogs although I will require them to walk on a harness, preferably one with the option of a front clip. I am available for house sitting and drop-in visits for all kinds of animals. For house sitting your dog will have a buddy in my 9 y/o Boston Terrier. He's typically a mount/wrestle type player and can be a talker when he's excited around other dogs. He is going through some major medical issues at the moment and isn't his usually spunky self but still seems to come alive around friends. I am always so glad to get to know your pets own personality and quirks, it's the absolute best thing about them! I would love to meet your pup or other pet and have the opportunity to care for them.

I always appreciate Casey's thorough updates and photos. Thanks for making Betsy's week so exciting! She is always happy and relaxed after a walk, and it makes our afternoons of work easy to manage. We definitely recommend Casey to anyone looking for superior care for their pups.

We are so happy that Casey is a part of our family. He takes great care of Betsy and works with me to discuss current concerns in care and training for our stubborn bulldog. Casey is the jam and I cannot recommend him enough! Appreciate all that you do!!

We are in such great hands with Casey. I couldn't be happier or more confident that my dog is having a great experience and getting the best care. We are so pleased that Casey and Mac have helped bring some joy, enrichment, and exercise to our dog's day. Casey is super thoughtful and brings toys that my dog loves on walks. I am truly grateful for Casey and Mac!!!

Pets are people to me, not human but people, they're wants and needs will be attended to as such. They're welcome(if not encouraged) on furniture and to share the bed. I do my best to pay attention to every little thing to figure out how to make them most comfortable; Don't want to lay on the ground, join me on the couch, couch is a weird texture to you, let me lay down a blanket you like better; Don't like your metal bowl let's try this silicone one, maybe ceramic? Fussy eating out of a bowl, is a plate better? Food boring sitting in a bowl, I'll toss it so you can hunt it; I try to solve all the mysteries I can about what can help your pet be as happy and content as possible. When house sitting I will do the same but also do my best to be respectful and considerate of your space and the rules you have in place for your pet and visitors in your home.

Information Casey W. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for a pet I'd love to know if they have any health or behavioral issues I should be aware of. It would also be great to know their favorite ways to play, favorite toys, how long they like to walk, if they like to run, if they have a maximum or minimum walk distance/time, how sensitive they are to temperature's, if they know any commands and if there are any they should follow during our time together.

A typical day

I love to cuddle and play with dogs. I love seeing them happy so if it's a walk, a bit of tug-o-war or some belly rubs your dog needs I am happy to make it happen for them! We will walk around your neighborhood, I can follow your usual route or me and your pup can go on an adventure! I'll gladly snuggle and play with your kitties as well, show me their favorite toy and how they like to play with it, and I'll make sure they have a good time while you're away.

Availability

My schedule is extremely flexible at the moment but I will be working on figuring out what my body is capable of managing regularly in regards to pet care. I will be taking very limited bookings to begin with. I expect to be available 1-2 days a week or up to 1 week a month of back to back housesitting. Get in touch and we'll see if I can give your pet the love and care they deserve.
