Pet care experience
I grew up with two (at one point 3!) dogs throughout my childhood and feel like life is just better with a dog. I recently moved to DC and had to leave my 5 year old Wheaten Terrier behind in Copenhagen, and I'm empty nesting pretty hard. Unfortunately, my work schedule during weekdays is not flexible, which is why I can't have my own dog here, but I can certainly devote my weekend to someone else's dog in need of a pal and caretaker. As someone who loves their dog, I know how hard it can be to leave your fur kid at a boarding kennel or with a stranger, so I am totally willing to oblige any helicopter-dogparent whims (sending regular photos of the dog, making sure they have their favorite toy, running through their arsenal of tricks and commands, etc.).

Caitlin is an extremely responsible, dependable, thoughtful animal care-giver. She is also a true animal lover. She has cared for my two cats on many occasions, and I trust her completely. She always sends great pictures and keeps me well updated on how they're doing. I have also seen Caitlin care for others' cats and dogs, and she truly loves it. Really, she is the Rover jackpot: smart, responsive, knowledgeable about animals, and an animal person.
Caitlin and I lived together for 12 years, and I can say without hesitation that she loves animals as much or more than anyone I know. She not only grew up in a household that always had multiple dogs throughout her entire childhood and owned a Wheaten Terrier together with me for 6 years, but used to walk our neighbours dogs for free just because she loved being around them! She also loves taking adorable animal pictures which she will happily send to you so that you know your best friend is having a ball!
Caitlin has been a dog sitter, dog walker, dog RUNNER, and the occasional cat sitter for our family for years. She has a wildly intuitive understanding of animals and will give your animals an alternate mom/dad when you're not around. When Caitlin was dog walking for us, for example, she took our high energy dog on 5-10 mile runs on a regular basis! We didn't ask as we were just grateful for the dog walking assistance, but she could tell he needed more and offered to run him. Caitlin is very trustworthy and great on communication - she will text you photos of your animals having a blast with her to reassure you and make you smile while you're away from home. She's also willing to take on the "gross" pet tasks that a lot of sitters will refuse - yard poop patrol, litter boxes, and dealing with various other excretions (all of which she did for us when we were out). Fun fact, Caitlin is also bilingual and will teach your dog tricks with Danish commands...very useful. :)

Having experience with many breeds of dogs, I'm accustomed to quirky, insecure, stubborn, and independent dogs, but it's always helpful to know if your dog has specific personality traits such as issues with other dogs, bad experiences with certain parks, and medical requirements.
A typical day
I like to run, walk, and hike, and I have no problem spending a lot of time at a dog park. I can't promise I won't give your dog a liberal amount of treats and affection though.
