Calm, quiet and competent.

Pet care experience

I've been learning about dogs my whole life. I foster large dogs for AAC as well as fostering kittens each summer, and my philosophy is to listen, adapt and do what I can to help my animals be more comfortable and gain more confidence. I am especially good with shy animals but am more than happy to spend time with any dog! I'm very open-minded and happy to adapt to whatever routines your pet is used to, whether that means keeping up with a detailed training regimen, going out for a run, or snuggling on the couch for an hour.

Caitlin is a talented and loving caregiver for pets with tons of experience. She fosters both puppies and kittens, and is very skilled at helping dogs become socialized, using her knowledge of canine pack behavior. She truly enjoys spending time with dogs and is committed to helping to improve their lives through loving contact and knowledgeable guidance. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is needing a caregiver for their pet.

I've known Caitlin a long time, and she continues to be one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic dog-people I know. Her love of dogs goes deeper than pet ownership, although I've seen first-hand how well-behaved and well-loved her furry companions have been, both the ones she's owned and those she's fostered! She's also intensely curious about dog behavior and training, and that knowledge really shines through in the way she interacts with dogs on their terms, giving them the respect they need. She's especially great with shy dogs, getting them to feel relaxed and come out of their shell!

Information Caitlin S. would like to know about your pet

I like to know a lot of things, but let's do the very first questions I ask: How old is your dog? How long have you had them? What's their energy level? How much exercise do they get in a week? How does your dog feel about strange dogs and strange people? What are their favorite toys, foods and games? What behaviors are you trying to avoid?

A typical day

I like to give my houseguests the most of what they like. If your dog is shy and quiet, we can stay at home together with some favorite toys or a tasty new bone. If they're high-energy, you can expect them to get lots of runs in the neighborhood and fetch-and-chase in the yard. Older pups can enjoy the sunshine with me in the front yard along with a few leisurely walks. Social dogs can come with me to Barthalomew Park to enjoy the sights and sounds! Really, I'm flexible and I want your dog to have a good time and for you to feel good about leaving them. Just let me know what you want, and I'm happy to work it out.
