Please read entire profile before sending a booking request, thanks! ABOUT ME Hi! I'm Cain. I have been an enthusiastic pet owner and care provider all of my life. I don't just love dogs--I know them. I have had many pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, reptiles. Even as a kid I was the go-to guy when friends and relatives needed pet care. I have been a professional pet care provider for over 10 years and have been providing pet care through Rover for over 6 years. I have experience in rehabilitating abused and neglected dogs and cats, as well as puppy mill rescue dogs and feral cats, so I can handle just about anything! I am experienced in caring for dogs of all ages and breeds, as well as special needs dogs and rescues. I am well versed in dog behavior and body language, introducing new dogs to one another, and monitoring play so that everyone stays happy and safe. I know basic first aid (and keep a stocked pet first aid kit), dog and cat CPR, and can administer medication including injections. I have extensive experience with animals other than dogs, so if you need someone to stop in and visit your cats, hamsters, snakes, chickens, etc, let me know! WHAT I NEED TO KNOW It is important that I know as much about your pet as possible so that I can make sure they are healthy, happy, and safe. Please let me know if your dog has separation anxiety (including how that manifests for them), fears, possessive behavior, allergies, food restrictions, medications, health concerns, leash reactivity, social anxiety/shyness, or any other quirks so I can provide them with the best care. PLEASE have your pet's current vet (including phone number) listed in their profile. I do everything possible to prevent your pet from having to go to the vet while I'm caring for them, but accidents can happen, or an unknown health issue may arise, and it's important that I know who has your pet's medical records. I also ask, if you are going out of the country or I may not be able to reach you in an emergency, that you provide an emergency contact number for someone who is authorized to make medical decisions for your pet on your behalf (this can be your vet). A NOTE ON PUPPIES AND UNDERSOCIALIZED/UNTRAINED DOGS If your dog is under 1yo their stay will be subject to the puppy rate. Additionally, if they are older but need extra attention due to being not well socialized, or if they don't know commands and/or leash manners, they may also be under the puppy rate. I will decide this based on the information you give me before booking as well as how your dog behaves overall during their stay. For this reason I highly suggest bringing your puppy/dog to obedience classes, especially if you have just recently adopted them. Thank you for understanding! MEET AND GREETS Because of my extensive experience, and because I know you have a busy schedule, I typically do not require a meet and greet before booking. I will get as much information from you as possible and answer your questions through Rover to help decide if your pet is a good fit for me and vice versa. However, I am absolutely always open to having a meet and greet if you would like to. Just let me know what you prefer!
