*Primary reason for 1 star review - we have a camera on our dog's kennel just to make sure she is fine when we leave her home alone. We let Byron know that this would be on while he was here and he was fine with it. The first time I happened to check in, I saw Byron pick up the raised bed (1.5 off ground) my dog was laying belly up on to ask for rubs, and flip the bed over and my dog onto the ground, doing a full 360 landing on her back. Then pulled quite harshly on her collar. Camera stopped working the next day so was unable to see anything for the next 7 days* We were in a pinch and booked Byron last minute for the holidays. He came over and we were a bit uneasy because he was so quick - didn't care to hear all the details, just wanted in and out. But, despite the high price for someone with no reviews and uneasy feeling we got, we booked. His communication was lackluster at best and it felt like prying teeth to get information from him (short responses that often didn't answer our questions). Upon our return Byron had tidied up the place decently - kudos on that! However, our dog was out of her crate (established multiple times verbally, in text, and in our written instructions that she NEEDS to be in her crate or she will tear/eat furniture and other things that can be harmful to her). When we got inside she cowered when we tried to put on her leash - behavior she has never exhibited. This dog normally won't stop licking you and yes, may jump up a bit at the site of her leash. She is also a pretty mellow dog and doesn't run. Well, when we got her leashed up and comfortable, she got so much energy and wanted to run like mad. The only other time I have seen this behavior was on a lesser scale when I was sick and couldn't walk her for several days. Quite sure he did not give her exercise, at least for the last few days he was at our house. Overall, Byron is probably an alright guy but he clearly isn't a dog person and I would not have him back or recommend him to anyone.
