I've been called the dog whisperer!
Pet care experience
I have a natural ability to calm dogs and climatize them to a less anxious environment. I have volunteered over 300 hours at Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter and have Paw III with access to dogs in holding. I have taken courses at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. I am currently taking courses at Animal Behavioral Institute. I provide supplemental dog training and enrichment and have been guided by Ben Donoghue, a canine behavior consultant formerly at the HOV shelter. I have had great experience walking, caring, playing with and providing enrichment for shelter dogs as well as for dogs in my neighborhood. My goal is to become a dog trainer/behavior consultant and I am working toward that goal by studying with Ben, starting a dog walking business for local dogs and researching facilities where I can train. I am great with dogs and give them excellent care and attention. I love large dogs, but love smaller dogs too. I have a special spot for dogs that connect with me and teach me things. My family calls me the "Dog Whisperer."
Reviews
Bryce is great with reading dogs behaviors. He helped me understand why my two pups do certain things. He also did a great job taking care of the pups while we were away
Bryce knows Dog...I have a half blue heeler who is not the easiest girl to take care of due to her propensity to attack one out of every 20 dogs and her stubborn heeler mentally. But as soon as my dog even saw Bryce she was like--"This guy is a dog guy." In short, she loves him and his understanding of her nature. Bryce checked faithfully on Opal multiple times per day while I was out of town. He sent photos. He went to the vet to pick up prescriptions for her. Generally, I trust him and would absolutely ask him to watch Opal again. He's quick on the communications, so if you're having the "away-from-your-animal-worries" like I constantly do when I'm out of town, he'll make you feel like your pet is well taken care of.
Bryce is fantastic! He is dedicated, smart, responsible, and adapts to whatever your needs might be. We have three big dogs and three cats and he trains, walks, and seems to really care about the animals. He is particularly good with challenging dogs and works on behavior changes that make life easier for us. I would highly recommend Bryce.

The most important thing is to meet the client and the dog prior to the first walk or sitting to make sure that everyone is on the same frequency so that everyone is comfortable and the dog can be acclimatized to me before the client leaves. Next, I would want to know about the routine and what the dog likes and does not like and depending upon those preferences whether it be walking, playing, etc, I will use those that to keep the dog active and safe.
Information Bryce C. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know previous history of the dog I am with and any behaviors the owner feels I should know. I would like to know how your dog reacts to other dogs and people to keep them safe and comfortable when in my care.
A typical day
I like to take dogs on long walks and play with toys. We can sit and cuddle, run in a meadow, walk on Peet's Hill or take a stroll down Main Street. I try to find the most enjoyable thing for the dog to do because it is about them. If fetch is their thing, or being quiet and hanging out, that's what I'll do. I read dogs very well and am not going to force a dog into something it does not want to do.

Availability
Currently, I am working part time and am available several week and weekend days to walk and care for your dog. If you are located close to my job, I can usually run over during the day to let your pup out and provide exercise and care. I am free most evenings to tuck your dog in for the night and am able to return early in the morning to care for your pet before I go to work. I can also administer medication. I am flexible and able to make special accommodations around my work schedule.
