I usually ask if a dog is sensitive in any areas of the body, or if they dont like being scratched or pet in certain places. I ask what their temperament is, if they are toy-aggressive/possessive, what their past has been like if they see a dog in the distance or if we pass by someone else with another dog. Safety is important and I want all dogs safe. If a dog is staying at my place, I will ask if they are potty trained. This is very important, because I can provide potty breaks every five minutes if the dog needs to in order to avoid accidents :) If the dog is staying the night, I also will ask if they are the type to bark of they need company when they sleep. I love all breeds. I dont mind big dogs tackling me down, or jumping.

I always ask owners any tendencies dogs have. All animals are different and have different personalities! So it's important for me to venture with dogs in a familiar environment so they dont get stressed. I usually ask what routes the dog is used to, or if I have free range to go in hiking trails, or give Pflugerville lake a few turns (I live 5 minutes from there). Playing fetch in my backyard is possible.
