Vaccinating pets is an important part of responsible pet care. Schedule an immunization appointment shortly after welcoming your new pet into your home. During the first visit, the veterinarian will develop an immunization plan for your puppy or kitten to protect them from illness and disease. Your puppy should be vaccinated in advance for a few weeks after you bring it home.

Ageing keeps up with veterinary visits. Cats, in particular, may be reluctant to leave the comforts of off-limits in their home, but there are ways to reduce the stress for both of you. When your cat is a kitten, it's good practice to adapt her cat to her carrier (and avoid scenarios of running away and hiding under the bed). Dogs tend to like to drive. Take your puppy on a joy ride so he doesn't associate getting in the car with a visit to the vet. Many pets don't mind a trip to the veterinarian's office, especially if you choose a small one that's right for you.
